Osoyoos offers the perfect scenic vistas for cycling. Meander through town, glide down a mountain, burn off your sips and savors on a bike and wine tour, find adventure in the wilderness with a mountain bike, or simply discover the wind through your hair on two-wheels.

Ideal conditions lie on several courses within the South Okanagan. Golfers experience a variety of options that showcase the desert landscape, the lush vineyards, and the orchards. The rolling hills and Osoyoos lake complete the picturesque backdrop for the region.

Hiking and biking

Osoyoos has a number of fantastic hiking and biking trails for you to enjoy. Whether it is a climb through the mountains, a peaceful walk along the canal, river, or orchards surrounding the valley, there is a path that suites every age and every skill level. For any exploration of the area, be mindful that there are natural hazards in an outdoor environment, so be cautious and know your limitations.

Horseback riding

Open starting in July, Indian Grove Riding Stables offers a fantastic array of activities for the entire family. From mountain pack trips, beach rides, and cattle drives, riding lessons and pony rides, and an all day ride to underground waterfalls, there is something for everyone.

NkMip Desert Cultural Centre

One of Watermark Beach Resorts valued partners, NkMip Desert Cultural Centre allows their guests to fully immerse themselves within the culture and history of the Okanagan First Nations people. With two multi-sensory theatre experiences, outdoor exhibits, and multiple dining options at a stones throw, NkMip provides a fully rounded day for the entire family. Activity options range from eco-tours, fishing charters, and interactive exhibits.

Okanagan Falls

Located on the southern end of Skaha Lake in the Okanagan Valley, and known locally as OK Falls, the little community of Okanagan Falls was originally known as Dogtown, from the Okanagan First Nations word Skaha, meaning dog, after which the nearby Skaha Lake was named. Okanagan Falls was named after small twin waterfalls that were once part of a scenic natural landscape located at the southern end of Skaha Lake where it emptied into the Okanagan River.

The falls were reduced to a series of gentle rapids in the 1950s with the construction of a flood control dam to control the level of water flowing south in the Okanagan River. Okanagan Falls is a charming little town best visited for its tasty pleasures. It is home to the largest ice-cream cone seller in the valley, Tickleberrys, and two prestigious wineries, Wild Goose Vineyards and Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards (formerly LeComte Estate Winery). The community of Okanagan Falls was founded on agriculture, and today provides fresh fruits and vegetables, delicious dried fruits, and award winning wines.

Spotted Lake

Known as Kliluk to the Indian Band, this lake is sacred and can easily be viewed from highway 3, only eight kilometers west of Osoyoos. Each of the 365 rings is believed to have a different healing power. The Spotted Lake has one of the worlds highest concentration of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and sodium sulphates. In the summer heat, the lake dries out, forming colorful mud circles.

Wine tour

The South Okanagan wine region stretches across mountains, sage, lakes, and creeks and is the optimal terrain for wine making. The scenic vistas are remarkable and the area wineries have been able to utilize the landscape to their advantage to create award-winning wines and winery experiences set against panoramic views.

The region is home to many thriving, world-class wineries of all sizes with many that have been passed down through generations. Wine making in the South Okanagan is a way of life. Wine tasting in the South Okanagan is an unforgettable experience not to be missed. The wineries are dedicated to providing an unsurpassed winery and dining experience.

Within the region you will find incredibly talented chefs and will taste delicious dishes that have been created to enhance the winery experience. Spend your days learning and tasting a variety of wines from a variety of wineries.

The yoga classes and massages were very satisfying. The best part of the retreat was the people who joined. We connected so easily and had so much fun together.
