Yoga Eco Oasis offers you an accommodation with excellent quality, assuring that you will have a pleasant and comfortable stay. If you are a solo traveler and wish to have more privacy, good news for you as single person supplements are available for all rooms. If you don't mind sharing with other participants, Yoga Eco Oasis can find someone of the same sex to share with.

Note that three rooms have twin single beds (Muladhara, Anahata, and Manipura) which are intended for two female travelers wanting to share or two friends booking at the same time. The other two rooms have double beds (Svaditshana and Vishudda) which are for couples or family members. Single person supplements are also available or there is the option to share with another female yoga student if you are also a female yoga student. Yoga Eco Oasis can arrange this for you in one of the three rooms and it is a great way to make a new friend.


Course information

Because Yoga Eco Oasis believes in improving spiritual growth, health, and wellness to everybody, this program does not require previous experience. Advanced practitioners and beginners will enjoy the benefits alike. Relief from everyday stress comes from following the basic schedule of two daily yoga classes while still having plenty of free time to rest, socialize with new and old friends, enjoy tours and excursions, and have delicious vegetarian meals. Community yoga will be practiced to stimulate body and mind awareness, so you will practice in more effective and loving ways. Your yoga teacher will be using his highly developed teaching system during each class.

You will be asked at the beginning of each yoga retreat what areas you want to develop in. Your yoga retreat will be personalized according to your wants and needs for your own development whether you are a new or established student of yoga. During this yoga retreat, you will be taught meditation, Asana, chanting, and breathing techniques. Meanwhile, during the detoxification process, blockages and tensions held in the physical, mental, and emotional levels of the body are released. These practices help you let go of them, relax properly, and sleep more comfortably.

On your free time, you can relax, swim, have a therapy session, explore the area, and even help out in the organic gardens. Please note that all the classes are all optional during this retreat. Yoga Eco Oasis wants you to develop at your own pace and to enjoy your stay, enjoy this retreat as much as possible, become healthy in mind and body, learn how to relax and deal with stress, and learn how to feel at one with yourself.

The Five Points of Yoga

This powerful program is based on the Five Points of Yoga by Swami Vishnudevananda with a personal approach to helping people to attend these five points. The five points are:

  • Proper exercise: The yogic physical exercises are called Asanas, a term which means steady pose. The body is as young as it is flexible. So initially, your concern is simply to increase body flexibility and strength. Asanas also affect the internal organs and the endocrine system (glands and hormones).
  • Proper breathing: Yoga teaches you how to use the lungs to their maximum capacity and how to control the breath. Proper breathing should be deep, slow, and rhythmical. This increases vitality and mental clarity.
  • Proper relaxation: When the body and the mind are constantly overworked, their natural efficiency to perform work diminishes. Modern social life, food, and work make it difficult for people to relax. Many have even forgotten that rest and relaxation are nature's way of recharging. In order to achieve the perfect relaxation, three methods are used by yogis: "physical", "mental", and "spiritual" relaxation.
  • Proper diet: Besides being responsible for building your physical body, the food you eat profoundly affects your mind. You will know the basis of a yogic diet to help you attain a high standard of health, keen intellect, and serenity of mind.
  • Positive thinking and meditation: The mind will be brought under perfect control by regular practice of Mindfulness meditation. When you experience happiness is because you have achieved perfect concentration at a time, then all the worries and problems of the world disappeared. On the physical level, meditation helps to prolong the body's anabolic process of growth and repair. It has been scientifically proven that as meditation brings about a prolonged positive state of mind, it rejuvenates body cells and retards decay.

Vegan cooking

Learning to prepare healthy and delicious recipes can be an enjoyable experience. Together you will share new ingredients and many recipes to prepare meals to please your senses. During the retreat, Yoga Eco Oasis wants to share their cooking experience and will prepare many recipes to sample together in a cozy friendly atmosphere. To prove that healthy food is not boring, you will dedicate one hour a day for three days to discover new ingredients, recipes, and flavors to turn your meals into a feast. When you return home, everyone will admire your new culinary proposals. You will be able to learn, to prepare and sample typical dishes from Spanish and international cuisine to please even the most discerning gourmets. Vegetable pates, sauces, starters, salads, rice, pasta, soups and a whole range of options to add to your culinary delights to help you and your guests enjoy healthy meals without giving up the flavor.

Besides learning new recipes you will open your mind to new ingredients, to lend a delicious flavor and nutritional balance to your meals. You will discover the richness of colors, flavors, textures, and aromas of meals that you will enjoy in a peaceful atmosphere in harmony with others. Together, you will contribute ideas to prepare dishes that will stand out and surprise your guests. With seaweeds, dry fruits, and sprouted seeds on the menu, your dishes will gain flavor and nutritional value. For a smoother touch, you can add a dairy substitute to your meals. You will learn how to prepare a fluffy pastry mixture without refined sugar for cakes that will delight the young and grownups.

Vegan cookery can be fun and entertaining and its great variety can stimulate your imagination and provide an opportunity to learn new culinary techniques. You will take into account the changes over the last few years with regards to vegetarian cooking whose increasing demand has raised the availability of ingredients and the expectations of guests. You will use seasonal vegetables and chemical free products that are organically grown and are healthy for you and good for the environment. Yoga Eco Oasis obtains their produce from small local organic farmers committed to sustain and enhance the health of soil, plants, animal, and human life. This way, besides contributing to maintain a healthier environment, you will obtain all the nutrients you need and avoid consuming harmful chemical residues. You are welcome to visit with Yoga Eco Oasis some organic farms to see first-hand how eco-farmers tend the soil to obtain healthy natural produce. The natural produce brings out authentic flavors that you can enjoy before the introduction of pesticides, so you could taste real vegetables and tomatoes.

Healthy delicious organic vegetarian meals will be provided using locally grown organic fruit and vegetables. The recipes used will be created by health and nutrition experts including Jose and Ana, the founders of Yoga Eco Oasis. Wholemeal foods will be used as well as foods low in saturated fat during this retreat. All meals are based on the principles of good nutrition, health, and taste. There is no meat or fish on this retreat. All the food is vegetarian in the tradition of yoga and Ahimsa (non-violence).

The yoga tradition encourages the vegetarian diet during the practice of meditation in order to increase the experience of peace. Your meals will contain beans, nuts, avocados, tofu, seeds, and other vegetarian sources of protein, allowing you to build core, back, and other muscle groups that have been developed from practicing yoga postures by yogis for millennia. You will also provide with a fresh organic fruit from the local organic farmers available all day as well as over 20 of the best quality organic teas from around the world which are available to drink whenever you want to. Other special dietary requests such as vegan, dairy free, gluten free, and wheat free can also be catered for. Please let Yoga Eco Oasis know to meet your requests.

Yoga Eco Oasis is situated on a strategic location in Costa del Sol and able to organize excursions to various destinations nearby such as traveling from the mountain snow in Sierra Nevada to the beaches in Costa del Sol in just one hour. The following excursion proposals of interest to visitors are classified by distance from Yoga Eco Oasis.

Caves of Nerja

Caves of Nerja are located on the slopes of the Almijara mountains, 5 kilometers from the tourist resort town of Nerja and 1 kilometer from Maro. The caves are series of caverns called the "natural cathedral of the Costa del Sol", with an area of 140,000 square meters and a maximum length of 700 meters open to the public. The most impressive feature is a huge central column 32 meters high in the Hall of Cataclysm, considered the tallest in the world and the world's largest stalagmite. The Show Gallery is accessed by a 8-meter flight of stairs leading to the Entrance Hall (Sala de Vestibulo) where archaeological excavations took place and where some of the finds are now displayed. A work is currently under way to open new galleries.

Chillar River

Chillar River is a tourist trail for hikers to enjoy the beauty spots and clear mountain waters running under their feet. You can enjoy a tour with pools of water and alternating gorges where the river narrows. The source of the river is over 1200 meters high on the Almijara mountain range. The Chillar River maintains a fairly constant flow throughout the year even during periods of drought and it runs almost entirely along a deep gorge of dolomite marble.

Sierras of Tejera, Almijara, and Alhama

One of the wildest places of the Axarquia region of Málaga is within walking distance. It is a protected natural park located in an unspoilt highland region which is ideal for hiking and biking routes. This natural park contains sierras of Tejeda, Almijara, and Alhama. This park has an area of 40,662 hectares covering the mountainous landscape of the sierras of Tejera and Almijara between the Province of Málaga and Granada, in a northeast southeast direction toward the sea and the natural cliffs of Maro.

Treasure Cave (Cueva del Tesoro)

Treasure Cave is located in the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria. With many spectacular galleries, it is one of the three known marine caves in the world and the only one of its kind in Europe. The cave can be reached by bus, on a bike, or as part of a pleasant walk along the seashore. Dating back to the Jurassic period, the cave is carved in a natural limestone promontory forming a cliff on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The cave's name came from a legend about an Almoravid royal treasure hidden there.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight and arrive at Málaga Airport (AGP). Yoga Eco Oasis will pick you up from the airport. The pick-up is included in the price. The scheduled collection from Málaga Airport (AGP) is between 12.00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the scheduled collection from Yoga Eco Oasis is at 2.00 p.m. to be dropped off at 3.00 p.m. for flights leaving after 5.00 p.m. at Málaga Aiport (AGP). If you wish to be transferred before or after the established time, Yoga Eco Oasis can arrange for a local driver to collect you. The transfer normally charges 80 EUR.
