Testimonials

  • Review by Dianne F from Vancouver, Canada

"My friend and I took a short, 1-hour train ride to Sagarans from Zurich and were met by Gain Carlos. We went to two wineries in this small region and the wines were fabulous!! We didn't know what to expect from the wines or the tour, but everything was beyond expectations. We loved the lunch, meat, cheese and Swiss chocolate with the winery visits. Gian Carlos was a pleasure to spend the day with and we enjoyed a lot of laughs. Would definitely recommend!"

"Locally grown wines are one of Switzerland's best kept secrets. On a recent trip across Switzerland, we booked a half-day wine tasting tour when we arrived in Chur. Our guide was Jean-Carlos. He picked us up at our hotel early, customized the tour to our needs and specifications, and drove us around in a very nice Mercedes van. Jean Carlos was very knowledgeable about the wines from Chur, the wine makers and the vineyards. We visited two wineries and tasted some very good whites (Swiss Pinot Noir does not compare to Burgundy or California/Oregon Pinots). He recommended the very best Pinot from the area that we took for a gift to friends we were visiting. He dropped us off at a marvelous little restaurant in the middle of the vineyards, introduced us to an excellent winemaker who was having lunch there. The whole experience was fabulous and we have biked and tasted in the major wine growing regions in France, Italy, Spain, and New Zealand and, of course California, Oregon, and Washington in the US Jean Carlos even put together a venison smoked sausage and cheese plate along with jellied honey compote and an apricot jam he had made. The whole trip was exceptional and we recommend it to anyone from the wine novice to the aficionado."

"I had the pleasure to discover the Graubnden with Wine Tours Switzerland. Our guide showed us two wineries where we could taste wines and eat some local nibbles. We drove through the Bnder Herrschaft and got to know a lot of stories about the region, the buildings and the history of the area. A great tour with a very personal touch! Thank you! "

  • Review by Denis A from Altdorf, Switzerland

"I had the pleasure of spending a day with my girlfriend in a historic and beautiful region. We got to taste great wines while meeting the makers and enjoying local snacks. Additionally, the history of the region was told by our guide Gian Carlo and connected with all the places we got to see - not to ruin the surprise, but Heidi was part of it. This is not just a wine tour; this is history and therefore an experience which you cannot get anywhere else."

  • Review by Phillipa Fuller from Lake Macquarie, Australia

"Gian Carlo is an incredible host, a fun and friendly tour guide of this beautiful and historic wine region in Switzerland. His knowledge of the region's wines and winemakers is unprecedented and along with local stories of buildings and families of the region throughout history he really brings the entire experience to another level. It is a journey of wine through time and you can really picture yourself there the way he tells the story. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience and plan to go again! I would recommend to everyone. "
