The Hungarian wine regions offer exciting accommodations. The selection includes a wide range of accommodations, such as luxurious wine and spa hotels, attractive wine estate inns or small family houses. In Budapest, you will stay at a 4-star hotel. In Tokaj wine region, you will be placed at a 4-star castle hotel. Please find the description of the hotel you might stay in Tokaj wine region below.


Day 1

  • 14:00 - meeting in the hotel.
  • Transfer for picking up the bikes. You will have a Budapest bike sightseeing tour along the Danube. You will see the most important buildings of Budapest: the Buda Castle, the Gellrt Hill, the Danube Promenade, and the Parliament,which is the third biggest in the world. You will bike through Margaret Island, cross the rpd Bridge, and discover a baroque square in buda.
  • Then, you will transfer back to the hotel and have dinner with a Hungarian wine crash course.
  • Distance - 15 kilometers.

Day 2

  • 08:00 Departure from Budapest to the historic wine region of Tokaj.
  • After a 3-hour journey, you will arrive at a small village called Rtka for your first tasting with the rvay Family. Winemakers Angelika and her father, Jnosare proud owners of several awards and certificates. They will introduce you not only to the Tokaj region and traditions, but explain the diversity of the volcanic soils and their importance.
  • You start your journey to the world of botrytised sweet wine with some late harvest and asz wines. Cold lunch will be served there as well.
  • After lunch, you will take your bike and have a wonderful ride through the most important wine villages of the region.
  • You will end your bike tour in your wine hotel, where you will have a wine tasting and dinner.
  • Distance - 20 kilometers.

Day 3

  • The sunny vineyards of Md are waiting for you to be discovered. With a professional local wine guide, you will have a bike tour of the most important vineyards of Md, a village that produces high quality Tokaj wines.
  • You will taste the wines and have a picnic lunch with local products.
  • In case of unfavorable weather conditions, the tasting and lunch will be held in a wine restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, some treasures are waiting for you to be explored in a six hundred years old cellar labyrinth of Holdvlgy Winery.
  • You will bike back to the hotel and freshen up for a wine dinner in one of the most prestigious local gourmet restaurants, with the wines of the iconic winemaker of the region, Istvn Szepsy.
  • Distance - 25 kilometers

Day 4

  • There will be a bike tour to Tokaj, where you will have a short sightseeing.
  • You will bike along the Tisza river, the second longest and the slowest river of Hungary.
  • You will end your bike tour with a lunch in a typical Hungarian Csrda restaurant, where you can taste the famous fisherman's soup.
  • After lunch, you will transfer back to Budapest.
  • The evening is free for you to explore Budapest or you can choose an optional wine bar tour.
  • Distance: 20 to 25 kilometers.

Day 5

  • You will drive to the Neszmly wine region, grab your bike and start pedaling through the blocks of houses of the former mining town of Tatabnya. It will not be long before you arrive to the stunning little town of Tata. You will be biking around Old Lake, and visit the English Garden.
  • You will cycle further along a small stream to the river Danube, climb up the hill and have a wine lunch at one of the regions top wineries.
  • You can enjoy the widest view to the Danube from the terrace of the winery's restaurant.
  • You will arrive back to Budapest in the late afternoon to catch your evening plane.
  • Distance - 30 kilometers.

Neszmly is a small wine region in northern Hungary, located on the banks of the Danube River only an hour-drive away from Budapest. The region has long winemaking traditions that go back to medieval times. Some estates have existed from the 18th century.

Tokaj wine region

Tokaj is the prestige brand of Hungary, unique and excellent. Its historic landscape was declared a world heritage site in 2002. TokajAsz is the worlds greatest natural sweet wine, a medicine and a gift of the nature. Taste dry-furmint wines from the finest vineyards in Tokaj, search for apricot, lime or quince flavors in the late harvest, dry fruits and honey in the nectar-like asz wines.
