On arrival to Zakynthos, you will be collected from the airport and transferred to your accommodation. Once there, you will have time to settle in and soak up the atmosphere and the new surroundings. After a delicious leisurely breakfast, you will set off for a hands-on harvest experience at Grampsas vineyard, hosted by the owners. Imagine yourself in a stunning vineyard during the grape harvest, surrounded and enveloped by the sweet fragrance of the ripe grapes and stunning amber and purple hues as far as the eye can see. Shears in hand on a beautiful autumnal morning and the wonderful Zakynthian sunshine warming you as you harvest this wonderful fruit straight from the ancient vines, together with the host family.
Soon after, there will also be an opportunity to tour the family’s boutique winery and sample the wonderful aromas and tastes of some of the finest wines, accompanied by delicious farm fresh finger food, specially selected and prepared to complement the wines. The conversation will definitely be centered around what a truly wonderful experience this has been. In the afternoon, you will return to Villa Spiros, so that you can relax, go swimming, and enjoy the rest of your day.
After a hearty breakfast, you will set off, for an exclusive aquatic experience, to the heavenly Marathonisi Island, remarkably shaped similar to the native sea turtle, Caretta. Starting the trip from the small harbor at Agios Sostis, you will board the small boat, Poseidon. for an exciting sea trip in the famous sweeping bay, hoping to see and even swim alongside some of the large and extremely graceful loggerhead turtles.
Next, you will head out to sea for a short crossing to the breathtaking, uninhabited, Marathonisi Island, with its fine powder like sand that captivates the water and nature lover alike.Later, back at Villa Spiros, it is time for you to get ready for the farm to fork cooking activity, which is based on a variety of fresh vegetables and live stock from the family’s household. Some of the dished you may prepare are: rabbit in tomato sauce, freshly fried potatoes, tzatziki, and Greek salad. Home-made wine and bread, will accompany your traditional lunch.
This morning, you will gather to harvest the grapes at the family vineyard of your host, in Mouzaki village. After collecting the grapes into the special crates, you will follow your host to the press and watch the fascinating process of turning this wonderful fruit into wine.
Next, you will lay the picnic blankets down in the vineyard and enjoy a freshly prepared lunchtime country picnic by the intoxicating aromas of the vines. It will be a simple, yet wonderful experience.
Spend the afternoon and evening at leisure in the lovely Laganas resort. In the famous sweeping bay, the unending sandy beach, and wonderful crystal clear water, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk, swimming, snorkeling, and if you are lucky, swimming alongside some of the large, beautiful, and extremely graceful loggerhead turtles Caretta-Caretta.
You can enjoy scuba diving and a series of water sports, hire a boat, and relax on sun beds, while enjoying your carefree moments under the Greek sun. There is a varied array of idyllic beach bars, restaurants, café bars, and traditional taverns, where you can go to for your evening hours.
Wake up at your own pace today and enjoy a relaxing summer morning in the lovely Laganas resort. Around midday, you will set off for an exciting drive to the north of the island, with several gastronomic stops along the way. One stop will be the olive oil factory, where you can sample the Zakynthian liquid gold, the precious golden oil, which gives the Zakynthian people their unique lust for life.
Arriving at the picturesque port of Porto Vromi, you will take a delightful boat ride to the world famous Shipwreck Bay for a once in a lifetime swimming experience. Backed by towering white cliffs, the Shipwreck Bay is a favorite for base jumpers, with the most turquoise crystal clear waters anywhere on the island.
Later, you will move on to a lovely lunch destination, a wonderful family owned and run, traditional mountain tavern. Here, in Orthonies village, you will experience an authentic, traditional culinary experience. The grandmother of the family will show you step by step, how to cook a family recipe, handed down from generation to generation.
You will learn how to prepare free range stuffed chicken in tomato sauce with pasta, as well as a variety of starters including seasonal vegetables straight from the kitchen garden. While the lunch is cooking, done in the traditional wood fire, the hosts of this delightful establishment will guide you on a short walk to their vegetable and herb gardens.
Next, you will see a variety of small animals hand reared with care, which provide the family’s everyday nutrition needs. Later, back at the tavern, under the shade of a lovely old tree, you will enjoy an absolutely sensational lunch, which you will help to cook, accompanied by local wine. Before reaching the beach, you will visit the Turtle Museum, so you will understand and appreciate more the turtles needs and life cycle. Just a little further on, you will arrive at the beach, where you can take a stroll and chat to one of the passionate volunteers from the preservation trust, who are always happy to share their expertise on the subject of the turtles.
Later, you will go out to sea to the secluded uninhabited island of Pelouzo and the protected beach of Sekania; they provide a stunning backdrop to a spectacular setting. This is the time to truly unwind and enjoy a heavenly afternoon. Maybe swim or snorkel to see if you can spy a Caretta-Caretta.
The owner of the family beach front tavern, Dafni beach, will welcome you to prepare and cook with her the most tantalizing dishes on the restaurant's traditional menu. Andri will welcome your culinary questions, as she is proud to share her knowledge of traditional Zakynthian cuisine, so take advantage of her experience.
Finally, it is time to take your seat under an inky starlit sky, in your table at the water’s edge, with the gentle water lapping at your feet; the perfect location to enjoy your exclusive dinner. Definitely, a once in a lifetime experience.
Enjoy your breakfast and meet at Villa Spiros, where you will enjoy a culinary activity making little gifts to take home. You will make the Gliko Koutaliou, a seasonal local spoon dessert with grape, and also make Halva, a traditional semolina based dessert with raisins, which are delicious.

Ferry boat from Venice, Ancona, or Brindisi to Patras is an alternative if you travel either by car or train. It takes about 20 hours with the superfast ferries from Venice to Patras. Then, there is a further hour drive by car or bus from Patras to Killini, from where the ferry boat takes you to Zakynthos Town in one hour. Zakynthos can be easily reached by boat from Killini port or Kephalonia Island.
