Taking an exciting drive towards the green, northern part of the island with wonderful picturesque villages, you arrive at Porto Vromi for a boat trip to Navagio and the caves. If the weather does not permit it, you will admire Navagio beach from the cliff tops above. The drive alone is magnificent, with green slopes all around and the endless, blue, crystal clear, Ionian sea. Traditional houses, old cafes and family tavernas, compliment this beautiful setting.

The Island is beautiful in any season, but during the olive season, the whole Island becomes a hive of activity, buzzing with industrious families turning their attention to the precious business of the olive harvest. Called liquid gold by the locals, Zakynthian organic olive oil ranks highly, amongst the best in the world. Work with the locals in an olive grove and enjoy a unique hands-on experience on harvesting the olives straight from the trees in the traditional hand-picked way with just an olive wood stick.
This age old method produces some of the finest olive oil in the country, if not the world. The olives are then carefully bagged in traditional hessian sacks and carefully transported. After our inputs, we will of course follow our olives to the olive factory; we will watch the fascinating process of turning this fruit into liquid gold. Imagine the delight when you get to dip some local village bread into a wonderful oil which just hours before was a humble olive on an olive tree.
A priceless experience! Hands-on participation is optional. Alternatively, you can simply be our guests to observe the process, enjoying the scene as the green-and-gold landscape is bathed in autumnal glow. The olive harvest trip takes place in the villages of Mouzaki, Lagopodo, and Romiri and it includes a wonderful freshly prepared lunchtime country picnic, under the shade of the olive trees. Simple, yet wonderful!
