The Tucker House Inn is perched on a hill overlooking the town of Friday Harbor. Friday Harbor is located on beautiful San Juan Island, seated in an archipelago of 170 islands in the Salish Sea between Seattle, Vancouver and Victoria. Friday Harbor is a picture-perfect historic seaport surrounded by spectacular mountain and marine views. With a natural grandeur that combines salty breezes, vibrant blue water, pebbled beaches and fragrant woods, it is a rare, unspoiled retreat ideal for outdoor adventurers, wildlife enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
Friday Harbor, an antidote to city life, is a small, well-preserved community. It’s a year-round destination, accessible only by ferry or seaplane, where visitors can easily get around on foot to indulge in the eclectic collection of art galleries, coffeehouses, boutiques and eateries. Nestled in the center of a “rain shadow” cast by the mountains on the Olympic Peninsula, Friday Harbor enjoys nearly 250 days of sunshine each year and only half the annual rainfall of nearby Seattle, making it a place where kayaking, biking and walking are as common as driving. It is one square mile of walkable seaside activity, recreation and culture, known for its picturesque streetscape of turn of the century wood frame buildings and popular harbor.
At the Tucker House Inn, owners pride themselves on their food service. From the satiating three course breakfast and satisfying afternoon cookies to the sumptuous dinners at Coho Restaurant, each is carefully prepared and made from the freshest local ingredients.
Breakfast at the Tucker House Inn is not to be missed. Every morning, you will be treated to a hot, multi-course savory breakfast made from the freshest seasonal ingredients. Breakfast is a three-course affair starting with fresh fruit and our house-made granola and Greek-style yogurt, followed by a hot entrée of the day and a sweet treat for dessert. The menu changes daily and reflects the availability of local seasonal ingredients from island farms.
Many of the herbs, flowers, vegetables and fruits, that will be used in cooking, come from local farmers throughout the San Juan Islands or from the Inn’s organic garden. The inn has developed relationships with local farmers and fisherman to ensure that the very best produce, meats, fish, and cheeses are available for your stay.
A local dairy farm provides Tucker House Inn with lightly pasteurized fresh milk and cream, delivered weekly in glass jars by the “milk man.” Island farms provide organic free range duck and chicken eggs. The house blend coffee is locally roasted from the San Juan Coffee Roasting Company, specializing in fresh roasting exotic estate grown coffees from around the world, while the selection of specialty and gourmet teas come from the mountains of China, the jungles of Japan, and the coasts of Canada and Washington State.
The nearest airport is Friday Harbor Airport (FRD).
