Program

Day 1: Istanbul

Welcome to Turkey. Today will be your arrival into Istanbul. Transfer from the airport and check in to your hotel. TravelShopTurkey offers a welcome drink and a chat with gourmet experts in Turkish cuisine. Tonight, you will have a welcome dinner. Be introduced to the friendly crew and other travelers while enjoying traditional Turkish food and enjoy the mystical atmosphere of Istanbul at night.

Day 2: Istanbul

After a morning orientation and sightseeing tour of Istanbul, you participate in your first Turkish cooking lesson. During the Istanbul cooking tour, you will taste various flavors of Turkey from different regions, preparing lunch which you will enjoy!

The professional daily cooking tours expose you to the very best of professional cooking classes Turkey has to offer. After the cooking class, you take a break with the meals you prepare.

After lunch, you visit to Topkapi Palace; the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, and the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.

Sultanahmet Imperial Mosque, set across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the Blue Mosque because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles.

Hippodrome: It is the Ancient Hippodrome, with the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.

Day 3: Istanbul - Kusadasi

After breakfast, you depart for the Bosphorus Cruise tour. Enjoy a magical Istanbul Bosphorus Boat Cruise starting at 8:30 a.m. Bosphorus by boat is a traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. You will have a lunch break at a Turkish restaurant. After lunch, you depart for Istanbul's airport for a domestic flight to Izmir. You will then transfer from the airport and check in to your hotel in Kusadasi and have dinner.

  • Kusadasi - Ephesus: 18 kilometers / 12 miles / 20 minutes
  • Tour starts: 8:30 a.m.

Day 4: Kusadasi

At 8:30 a.m., you will depart from the hotel. You will then have a guided tour of Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient sites in the world. En-route, visit the Temple of Artemis, Curetes street, famous Roman baths, Celsus Library, and Grand theatre. You will have a lunch break at a small Turkish restaurant.

After lunch, you will visit to Sirince Village that also has a fantastic reputation for making some of the best wines in Turkey - especially fruit wines. You will visit the vineyards and it is time to learn how to make fruit wine with Turkish wine makers. In the evening, you will be tested about your knowledge of making fruit wine. On the way to hotel, you will visit a place which continues to perform one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving centre. You will then have dinner.

Day 5: Kusadasi

At 8:30 a.m., you depart for Pamukkale. You will check in at the hotel at around 12 p.m. and you have a lunch break until 1:30 p.m. Afterwards, you shall visit the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis then walk around this natural phenomenon and have the option of lying in the waters of the natural springs. You will later have dinner.

Day 6: Kusadasi - Cappadocia

After breakfast, you depart for Izmir's airport for your domestic flight to Cappadocia. You will transfer from the airport to your cave hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore in Cappadocia. You will have dinner in a cave hotel in Cappadocia.

Day 7: Cappadocia

After having had breakfast, participants will take part in another cooking lesson in Cappadocia. You will have the opportunity to taste the great food of Central Turkey, including pancakes and kebab.

In the afternoon, you visit Goreme Open Air Museum, the heart of Cappadocia. Goreme Open Air Museum is famous for frescoes dating to 10th century describing the life of Jesus Christ and monks. The next stop is Cavusin, which is an abandoned village with old cave Greek houses. You will visit a pottery work shop to see how to make potteries. Then, you go Pasabagi where you can see three-headed fairy chimneys. You will later have dinner.

Day 8: Cappadocia - Istanbul

After breakfast, you will have free time for shopping in Cappadocia. Today, you depart for the airport for your domestic flight to Istanbul and then back home.
