During this holiday, you will be staying in a bamboo cottage, with a headman family.

Day 1

Start an exciting trip by driving up to the northwest of Chiang Mai. You will stop at Mae Ma Lai local market to buy ingredients that will be necessary for your class. You will be introduced to the Thai herbs and the required cooking ingredients. Proceed on a long snaky road for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Shan Village, passing beautiful mountains and staircase farmland. You will have a simple lunch at the village. After lunch, start hiking for 3 hours to Lahu Village, where you will stay overnight with a headman family. You can chit chat with the villagers or enjoy learning to cook Thai food with the tour guide. Then, enjoy those foods for dinner, relax, or find a chance to sing or dance with the hill tribe people.

Day 2

Wake up to a beautiful morning in a very green surrounding, before having breakfast in the mist. After breakfast, you will hike for 2 hours to the village of the Karen, the biggest tribal group in Thailand, to observe their culture and a mode of living. Continue walking to a beautiful waterfall to enjoy swimming and have lunch at the fall. After lunch, continue trekking under the shade of the trees along the stream to the elephant camp, where you will be taking a jungle taxi (elephant ride) to the camp fire on the bank of the river. Enjoy swimming in the river and get another Thai cooking lesson with the tour guide. To end the day, you will enjoy dinner and have a nice evening at the camp.

Day 3

Before breakfast, you can take a bath in the warm river. Today, you will have the opportunity of going on a fun and challenging white-water rubber boat trip, along the exciting rapids, for an hour. Then, jump on a bamboo rafting experience for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The trip ends at the Shan Village. After all the fun, change into your dry clothes and have lunch. You will be driving a truck to the village of the Akha, which is the most primitive tribe. After that, you will be heading back to Chiang Mai.
