The Thai house is the inspiration of the Fargrajang family to offer an attractive holiday. Enjoy learning the art of Thai cuisine and visit the local market.
Pip has been teaching cooking classes for more than 25 years. Pip and Paiboone, her husband decided to build a traditional Thai-style teak house as a homestay to share Thai ways of life with travelers from overseas. The Thai House opened in 1990 and the cooking class started in 1991 after so many requests from guests who had tasted Pip’s home-style cooking. She will share with you her knowledge, recipes, tips, and even secrets. The ways she teaches her students to cook is the way she cooks for her three daughters and teaches them how to cook for their love ones.
Pla is Pip's daughter. Mother of two boys, she enjoys creating menus for them. She has been Pip assistant in cooking class for mant years. Now she leads classes herself.

"A real piece of authentic Thai"
Our trip started when we were picked up at our hotel and transported to the Thai house by Thai long boat. This was an amazing experience as we moved along the canal we were able to see close at hand the wild life, arriving at the house we felt we had been transported to another world.
The Thai house is an impressive building and our welcome was warm. The bedrooms are simple but elegant, very clean with comfortable mattresses and lovely bedding.
The cookery sessions were so insightful, we recognised the dishes but the techniques we were taught were so precise and simple. We learnt lots of new skills, especially how to make a lot out of a little, preparation is everything. Pang is a great teacher, she was meticulously organised, all food and equipment prepped and ready for each session. She took things slowly and demonstrated techniques so we could practice and try ourselves. The outside Thai kitchen is immaculate, all the ingredients beautifully prepared and hygiene was always highly respected with food always covered and protected. We really enjoyed our trip to the food market. We were able to see raw ingredients first hand and Pang guided us around and explained everything. Pang and her family made us so welcome, their home was beautiful and a perfect place to relax. Our best cookery course to date.

"Best cooking course you can do!!!"
Let's start with the place. The house is incredibly beautiful, like a temple. You will have everything you need to feel comfortable. Quite at night so you can enjoy a good sleep.
The course, Pip will explain you the recipes in so much details that your plates are going to be on the next level. Not just an explanation of the recipe step by step, but she will give you information about the ingredients, how they work together and how they can help our health.
The visit to the market, a perfect experience to see where the locals: buy, choose and eat. You will have the opportunity to try things you wouldn't in any other day at a market.
The boat trip is very nice and relaxing, you will have an idea of how things were in the past when the Channel was the main connection between places.
Last but not least, the whole family will make you feel at home. They are super friendly!
I will say this course is good for any level, from a begginer to an experienced chef, you will learn a lot!
I will be back!
