The trail boasts a large number of fine historical buildings, including the walls and gatehouses of the villages, the iron gates of Ma Wat Wai, the village temple dedicated to the lady Tin Hau, with a side altar dedicated to the goddess of childbirth, who is said to bring sons to childless women, and the famous ancestral hall which houses the only remaining Imperial tablet in Hong Kong. Many of these historical buildings have been carefully restored by the government and are now preserved monuments under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance. When it comes to Peninsula academy children's classes, it's all about fun and education. This is certainly the case with the "A little pastry chef's adventure" program, which is aimed at youngsters between 4 and 10 years of age. Man Mo temple

The inside of the temple is magnificent, full of incense coils offered by merchants and residents, as well as gilded sedan chairs used to carry the statues of the gods through the streets to drive out the demons of disease. The temples old meeting hall is home to fortune tellers and sellers of good luck tokens. The Man Mo temple is truly redolent of the past and has played a significant role in Chinese ritual and religion in Hong Kong for over 160 years.

Mong Kok bird market Bird

The market stretches for about 100 meters and is lined with over 70 stalls selling birds, birdcages, food, and everything you need to care for birds. It is truly a fascinating place to visit.

Poho and Tai Ping Shan street

Two exclusive spas within a spa are available for a luxurious private spa experience and are ideal for couples. Mens and womens relaxation rooms are equally lavish, with hammam-style steam rooms, saunas and crescent-shaped, aromatherapy experience showers. You are encouraged to arrive 60 minutes prior to your appointment in order to change, relax and enjoy the facilities at the spa. Please be advised that late arrivals will result in a reduction of treatment time. How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). To enjoy luxurious travel or efficient business flying, The Peninsula can offer to fly our leisure guests and business executives throughout Asia and beyond with private jet charter service. This exceptional service is provided by Metrojet Limited at an exclusive rate to privileged guests staying at The Peninsula Hong Kong. Bespoke Rolls-Royce transportation will be arranged for guests to-and-from Hong Kong Business Aviation center and the hotel, and a 5% credit note on the total charter hourly rate will also be rewarded towards your next charter flight with Metrojet. Advance booking is highly recommended.

Arrival by shuttle

Complimentary shuttle buses run from the Central and Kowloon stations to various hotels.

Arrival by train

The Airport Express station is conveniently located on the arrival floor of the airport. It is an extremely fast and efficient way to reach central (Hong Kong station) or the Kowloon area (Kowloon Station). Trains operate daily from 6 am to 12:30 am at 12 minute intervals, with the journey taking about 25 minutes from the airport to central. Fares for one-way journeys are as follow: airport to Hong Kong Station: adult HKD 100, child HKD 50; airport to Kowloon station: adult HKD 90, child HKD 45.

Arrival by taxi

Taxis are safe and comfortable in Hong Kong, and are readily available at the airport. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey from the airport to Tsimshatsui or Central should take approximately 30 to 45 minutes. The fare from the airport to Tsimshatsui and Central will cost about HKD 350 and HKD 450 respectively, including bridge or tunnel tolls. Hong Kong streets have many restricted areas where stopping for passengers to alight is not permitted, and so you may find that a taxi maybe unable to stop at your exact address. Most drivers speak some English; however it is advisable to have your addresses or destination written in Chinese as well. The Concierge can assist you with this.
