You will stay in The Old Farm of Amfreville B&B during this holiday. The newly renovated accommodation is intimate and warm, with three gorgeous en-suite rooms, all tastefully decorated with modern comforts, a living and dining room complete with wood burning fires, and a patio out back with a fire pit to enjoy in the evenings as you stargaze.

Chef David and his wife Alyson spent five years restoring this lovely old farmhouse to the bed and breakfast they run today to ensure there is everything you need to enjoy your cookery break - from the cozy en-suite rooms to the Everhot range cooker in the kitchen.

Enjoy a stay at one of three comfortable gorgeous rooms, each beautifully decorated with every effort made to retain original features and charm but with very modern facilities

Each room has a spacious en-suite, tea and coffee making facilities, fine quality bedding, and fluffy towels and robes with complimentary handmade soap.

You will be rolling up your sleeves and learning to prepare classic French dishes in a laid back environment of a bright sunny typical French kitchen in this charming Normandy farmhouse.

Offering a truly unique hands-on culinary experience, the cooking lessons aim to give a real insight into the seasonal local produce available in the area. You will even be visiting a nearby market and local producer to pick up the fresh ingredients you will need each day. All lessons are held in a delightful French kitchen, using the Everhot range cooker.

Whilst with your hosts David and Alyson, you do not need to worry about a thing - gorgeous breakfast spreads and four-course dinners are broken up with a light lunch of charcuterie and local breads and cheeses. Due to their local knowledge, they will also be able to help you explore the area and its wide array of historic sites.

Typical itinerary

Please note that the itinerary is for guidance only and may change your needs and wishes and availability of ingredients at the time of travel

Day 1: Arrival

You will arrive in the afternoon and settle in, then meet your hosts before dinner to discuss your menus and program together over a welcome drink. Afterwards, sit down and tuck into a four-course dinner.

Day 2

After a leisurely breakfast, you will head to a local market or visit a local producer to get the day’s fresh ingredients for your cooking lesson.

Enjoy lunch back at the farmhouse, then get ready to spend the afternoon in the kitchen preparing your three course delicious dinner.

You will have some time to relax before meeting up at 7 p.m. to handle some last minute prep, plating up, and enjoying the delicious food you have prepared.

Day 3

After breakfast, you will visit one of the local producers from the region; there’s a bit of choice, with either a ciderie, oyster farm, local dairy producers, a local confitures producer, or the Caramels D’Isigny museum, depending on the season.

You can learn all about the production and be invited to sample their produce before heading back to the Old Farm for lunch.

After lunch, join David again in the kitchen to prepare your evening meal

The late afternoon is yours to enjoy the farmhouse, garden, or courtyard before meeting back in the kitchen at 7 p.m. to complete and serve your evening meal, followed by a long enjoyable sit down meal.

Day 4: Departure

After a leisurely breakfast, it is time to say fond farewells. Do not forget your complimentary apron, and recipes so you can delight your family and friends back home.

La Vieille Ferme d’Amfreville bed and breakfast is centrally located at the heart of the Airborne liberation of Normandy.

The region of Normandy, is rich with military history including being a short drive from the D-Day landing beaches and also offers some stunning natural scenery, as well as some of the worlds most epic architecture.

Any history buff will be delighted, as you’ll be able to explore all the historic D Day sites of the area, with the town of Sainte Mere Eglise just 3 miles away.

Extra day or night of full activities is also available at an additional 210 EUR per person.
