Location

This holiday will take place in Porto and Douro Valley, Portugal. Porto is a city on the rise, tempting travelers with its pretty old town, excellent wine bars, and golden rooftops. This isn't a destination for those who want up-to-the-minute cool, this is the spot for long, seafood dinners, slow strolls through sleepy streets and a white port and tonic as the sun sets. It's traditional Portugal at its finest.

The new Douro Valley generation of winegrowers has the reputation for making excellent Port wine and a world-class non-fortified “table” wines- climate and soil are perfect for table wines, both reds, and whites that today reach world class. This mix of Port and high-quality table wine makes the Douro Valley an exciting wine region to visit.

In Douro Valley, many of the wines are made from genuine Portuguese grape varieties, rather than from international grapes that can be found anywhere in the world today. You will get to know wines made from Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Sousa, and others.
