Location

Douro Valley

The Douro Valley is the perfect combination of nature and wine, with many locations where you can be dazzled by the panoramic scenery. The new Douro Valley generation of winegrowers have the reputation of making excellent Port wine and a world-class non-fortified “table” wines, climate and soil are perfect for table wines, both reds, and whites that today reach world class.

This mix of high-quality wines, nature, and awesome landscape makes the Douro Valley an exciting wine region to visit.

Many of the wines are made from genuine Portuguese grape varieties, rather than from international grapes that can be found anywhere in the world today. You will get to know wines made from Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Sousa, and many others.

Guimaraes

Considered the birthplace of Portugal, Guimaraes has a harmonious and well-preserved heritage, evident in the graceful iron and granite balconies, porticos, mansions, and arches connecting narrow streets, paving slabs smoothed by time, towers, and cloisters. Here the castle stands out as well as its medieval streets.

Porto

Porto is a city on the rise, tempting travelers with its pretty old town vibe, excellent wine bars, and golden rooftops. This is not a destination for those who want up-to-the-minute cool, this is the spot for long, seafood dinners, slow strolls through sleepy streets, and a white port and tonic as the sun sets. It's traditional Portugal at its finest.

Distances

  • Estadio del Dragón - 1,7 km
  • D. Luís I Bridge - 2km
  • Torre de los Clerigos - 2 km
  • Catedral de Oporto (Se Catedral) - 2.3 km
  • Palacio de la Bolsa - 2,4 km
  • Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO), 10 kilometers

Food

Portugal's cuisine is rich and varied as well as its landscape. The most distinctive feature of Portuguese cuisine comes from the sea. The Portuguese olive oil is of prime quality and is part of every dish, including cod for which it is said that there are 1001 recipes.

Each dish is matched to the right wine. The whole country produces wine and while Port Wine is famous, the Douro, Alentejo, and other table wines are no less superior.
