My wife and I stayed at Taveuni Palms for a week in April 2016 for our honeymoon. To provide a little context for the review, we usually holiday in 5-star accommodation around the USD 300-500 per night range. Taveuni Palms was a luxury splurge for us and we are so glad we did it. Everything was perfect for our entire trip (maybe minus the weather). Even for Fiji's renowned friendly culture, the staff at Taveuni Palms were something else. Never before have I felt completely waited on hand-and-foot without also feeling like an imposition to the staff. The staff at Taveuni Palms went above and beyond in every way to see to our every need. The location could not be better. The view from the Grand Villa is something you'd expect to hike for hours to see and while the Horizon Villa does not have as grand a vista it is still breathtaking. In both the Grand Villa and Horizon villa we ate all our meals on our private deck to enjoy the spectacular views. The food is divine. While Taveuni Palms do allow you to plan/request your meals each day, we simply told them the time and asked for it to be a surprise. Each night of our trip the chefs provided a varied and spectacular array of food. We could not be happier with the food on our trip. The Fijian style curry was literally the best I have ever had, by a long margin. We had some rain and wind while we were there, but the breaks in the weather were still enough for us to get out and snorkel in front of the resort. The reef right at your doorstep is huge and has a plethora of different corral and sea life. The dolphins indeed come past most days and we were lucky enough to be out there on the boat on one of those occasions. The Bouma waterfalls and Lavena coastal walk are both amazing hikes with some spectacular scenery and swimming. I cannot recommend those trips enough. We had a great day of weather to take the boat out and it truly was something else. I've been to the Great Barrier Reef a couple of times and the snorkeling trip we went on at Taveuni was in a whole different league of awesome. The snorkeling guides have great knowledge of the area and are good fun to hang out with for the day. Our trip to Taveuni Palms was flawless and we absolutely do not hesitate to recommend it. If you're planning a special trip, you will be blown away by Taveuni Palms.
