Accommodations for the 2020 tour season are at historical hotels in Florence (city center just a five-minute walk from the Duomo) as well as an abbey in Gaiole in Chianti and a majestic winery in northern Chianti.
What could be better than a cooking vacation in Chianti? This eight-night culinary adventure is all-inclusive and it begins in Florence where you will spend the first night followed by an early morning guided city tour (from a "foodies' perspective") with your private guide visiting the iconic sites in the city and will also mingle with the Florentines while strolling the narrow streets and even having a gelato at the world-famous Vivoli.
You will be transferred by private coach to your country home, an 11th-century abbey / winery located in the heart of Chianti where everywhere you look, you'll see vineyards and olive orchards.
Just imagine cooking with locals in Chianti! You’ll be learning the basics and hopefully a bit more in the kitchens of a historic abbey in the heart of Chianti for a week.
There are five hands-on classes and wine pairing with each meal. Classes will be held at the abbey and also around the Chianti area. When you aren't in the kitchen you'll be either on an excursion visiting a winery and tasting, visiting a cheese producer and tasting, visiting a hill-top town or just chillin' by the pool!
Can you see yourself strolling the cobblestone streets of the medieval villages, tasting local wines at some of the areas most majestic wineries, eating fresh pasta that you actually made? How about waking up in the Chianti countryside with church bells ringing from the neighboring village and the aroma of freshly made espresso and Tuscan bread? Well, you can do all this!
This tour includes eight nights lodging starting in Florence in a historic 14th-century hotel that was once a convent. You will have a private city tour, market visit, and wonderful dinners.
Days 3-8, the group is transferred to a wonderful abbey that is over 1000 years old. You will visit two wineries, a cheese producer, have wonderful hands-on cooking classes (five in total) with magnificent meals daily. Classes will be held at the abbey as well as in area wineries. You will visit the charming towns of Siena, Volterra and Arezzo in addition to a chocolate factory.
