Day 1: Arrival Split

  • Arrive in Split, a major Mediterranean port that is the heart of Dalmatia and Croatia’s second-largest city. You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, located in the fourth-century Diocletian’s Palace, the world’s best-preserved late antique palace. This evening, meet your fellow travelers for a welcome drink on the hotel terrace and continue to the wine bar for predjela (appetizers) and a glass (or two) of Croatia’s renowned wine.

Day 2: Split

  • Set out this morning for a private walking tour of Split’s city center with your guide. Discover this dynamic city that has evolved over the centuries. It offers a perfect blend of history and modern influences, and boasts museums, great architecture, restaurants, shops and an abundant green and open fish market. Begin with a stop at the open food market, where you can experience fresh local ingredients. Continue to Diocletian’s Palace for a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was originally built as a residential summer palace for the Roman emperor. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy Split on your own. You may wish to walk along the Riva (waterfront) to enjoy the ambience of this friendly city.
  • In the evening dinner in one of best restaurants in Split will be organized where accompanied with dinner selection of Mediterranean wines will be served.

Day 3: Origins of Zinfandel-Split

  • Just a short ride from Split is the location of origin of Zinfandel. Through DNA testing it was discovered that Zinfandel originates from Crljenjak, wine variety also know in Italy as Primitivo. Visit to vineyards overlooking Split where last remains of that ancient wine where found and wine tasting with winemaker considered one of Croatia's top expert on Crljenjak will be organized.

Day 4: Island of Hvar, Tomic winery

  • In the morning you will take a short 1 hour ride with catamaran to the island of Hvar. Famous for its breathtaking beauty, scent of lavender that lingers in the air and more than 300 sunny days per year, more than any location in Croatia, Hvar is definitely one of the most special locations in Croatia. There, firstly, you will have an organized tour of Hvar Town and UNESCO World Heritage site of Stari Grad Plain and learn about rich history that goes back all the way to the islands first colonists, ancient Greeks. After your tour you will visit one of the most famous wineries in Croatia. In the winery, made in style of ancient Roman palaces, handmade of stone, you will taste premium wines, separate yourself from the world for at least a moment and experience bounds that connect wine, stone and Hvar history. In the evening, after checking in your hotel overlooking Hvar's centre and Europe's oldest municipal theater, dinner will be organized in one of the Hvar best restaurants, member of Croatias top 100, selected for the third time in the row located right by the sea on Hvar's glamorous promenade.

Day 5: Ston/Dubrovnik

  • In the morning you will take the catamaran back to Split and continue to Dubrovnik. On the road you will stop in the little town of Ston as you make your way to southern Dalmatia. Located at the beginning of Pelješac Peninsula, home to a 14th-century fortification complex, the Ston area is famous for great seafood - most notably oysters - grown in the Little Ston Bay. You have ample opportunities to sample the fruits of the sea with oyster tasting and harvesting on the sea farm from a boat, followed by lunch at restaurant located in an Medieval castle on Ston's promenade. In late afternoon you will arrive to Dubrovnik and after checking in your hotel have free evening to familiarize yourself with this amazing city.

Day 6: Dubrovnik

  • In the morning tour of Dubrovnik, “Pearl of the Adriatic” will be organized. Irish author George Bernard Shaw wrote, “Those who seek paradise on Earth must come to Dubrovnik.” The Old Town, protected by city walls, fortresses and bastions, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A walk along the ramparts reveals a view of the enchanting Elafiti Islands. Stroll the cobblestone streets with your local guide to admire Onofrio fountain, the city bell tower and numerous medieval buildings. *Dinner tonight is at Dubrovnik’s best restaurant and among Croatia’s top five. An innovative cuisine, prepared with the freshest ingredients and impeccably served, leads you on a culinary odyssey as breathtaking as the sight of the Adriatic Sea and fortresses of Bokar and Lovrijenac that frame the view. This is a gastronomic experience of Old Ragusa that you are not likely to forget.

Day 7: Konavle Valley

  • Explore the Konavle Valley, renowned for its carefully preserved folk customs, rich national costumes and famous embroidery. Drive through the villages of Popovici and Radovcici to a local home where you learn about silk production. For centuries, silk has had a reputation as a luxurious fabric associated with wealth and success. In Konavle, watch and participate in the silk production process that includes cocoon boiling, thread reeling, dyeing, plying, weaving and embroidery. *Afterward, continue to a house located in an ancient mill on the banks of the Ljuta River for a traditional farewell lunch. Dine on prosciutto, local cheese and homemade bread. Then, head to Cavtat, originally a Greek settlement called Epidauros that became a Roman colony around 228 BC. Cavtat is home to the Rector’s Palace, the baroque Church of St. Nikola, a Franciscan monastery and the Vlaho Bukovac Art Gallery. The remainder of your afternoon and evening are at leisure in Dubrovnik. You may wish to take a relaxing walk in the Old Town or finish some last minute shopping.

Day 8: Dubrovnik/Depart
