Five minutes away from the historical city of Tavira, Monte do Alamo is an old farmhouse converted into a beautiful holiday site among almond, fig and olive trees. Let yourself doze in the shade of an almond tree while you wait for dinner or relax in the living room by the fireplace or watch the sunset from your private veranda.

Enjoy the hors d'oeuvre on the terrace looking at the sea, read a book lying on a hammock, have dinner by candlelight in the garden, taste the delicious homemade bread baked in the firewood oven and try the delicious preserves and jams and the typical chocolate and almond truffles.

The rooms

Classified as agrotourism complex, Monte do Alamo offers you 6 bedrooms individually decorated with comfort and good taste. It has 3 rooms with twin convertible in double with a 2x2 meters bed, 1 double room, 1 sea suite with private terrace and a wonderful panoramic view over the sea and 1 garden suite with a private garden, coffee and tea facilities and steam shower cabin.

We wish to make you feel at home. All spacious rooms with beautiful views have private bathroom, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi internet access. All bedrooms, except the garden suite have air conditioning unit. The simplicity and good taste of the decoration provide quality, comfort and tranquility.

Included excursions

Taste Algarve will take you to visit local food market and local producers. You will also enjoy a boat ride through Ria Formosa natural park to Culatra island as well as some cultural activities.


This 4-day holiday will take place in Monte do Alamo in the city of Tavira in Algarve, the southern region of Portugal.

It is a nostalgic cuisine. Therefore, it is necessary to know the people, their traditions and culture to understand the differences from region to region.

We can call it a true fusion cuisine; fish and shellfish caught in the lush Atlantic, salted and dried, melt with sweetened products such as beans, tomatoes and fruits. It is the ability of mixing these contrasts and the products from land and sea, sun and salt, which enrich, ennoble and exalt the local cuisine.

As a result of the climate and location, this cuisine has strong Mediterranean roots. If the bread, olive oil, garlic and wine are key elements, other products such as vegetables, fruits, aromatic herbs and fish, are likewise part of the Mediterranean diet. Its not possible to preserve an honest gastronomic tradition with poor quality products.
