At night, you will dine at one of Buenos Aires' top restaurants, Pura Tierra. Here, Chef Martin Martini will take your taste buds on a tour of Argentina's most local and authentic flavors. On the third day, you will discover some of Argentina's most iconic national treasures from musical-inspiring first ladies to one of the world's most romantic dance styles. During this day, you will continue your exploration of Buenos Aires with a half-day tour of the northern neighborhoods.
Highlights include the stunning architecture of Recoleta, the high-energy atmospheres of the Palermos, and the sprawling green spaces of Belgrano. After a tour of these neighborhoods, you will take a deeper took into the life of one of Argentina's most famous women: Evita Peron. At Museo Evita, you will learn about the life behind the country's famed heroine. The controversial first lady's immaculate wardrobe is a must-see before lunch at the museum's café.
After lunch, you will have the afternoon to explore Buenos Aires at your leisure. Dinner in itself will be a cultural treat. At Cafe de los Angelitos, you will feast on your choice of grilled meats and decadent desserts as you sip on Argentinian wines. After dinner, you will be mesmerized by a show were dancers will tango their way across the stage on an unforgettable performance, showcasing the moves, music, and elegance that have made the tango one of the most notable dance styles in the world.
Another side of Argentinian culture awaits you as you venture an hour outside the capital to an authentic ranch. After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will make your way through the countryside to La Bamba, one of the country's oldest and most historic ranches. Upon entering through the ranch's iron gates as horse-riding gauchos gallop along the expansive green, you will marvel at the existence of such a traditional ranch just an hour from the cosmopolitan buzz of Buenos Aires.
Your trip to La Bamba will introduce you to Argentina's history of equestrian sports such as polo and historic ranch life. An incredible spread of barbecued meats served with salads, bread, and potatoes will offer a taste of the ranch living for lunch. After you return to the city, you will have a few free hours before the final festivities in Buenos Aires.
For those who still have an appetite, the evening includes an optional dinner just a short walk from the hotel at Piegari Ristorante where you will unearth the Italian side of Argentina.
On the fifth day, you will say "Chau, suerte" to Buenos Aires. After breakfast, you will take a short 90-minute flight to Mendoza, one of Argentina's premier wine destinations. A guide will pick you up from the airport to your an authentic Argentinian wine experience in Bodega Benegas, a historical winery known for its red varietals at the notable Lujan de Cuyo region. This winery boasts a beautiful vineyard and exquisite wines, which you'll sample during your tour.
Afterward, you will visit the neighboring Bodega Vistalba and its picturesque vineyards. In here, a wine tasting and a four-course lunch are on the menu. The pairing of wines with local cheese, meats, and dishes like empanadas will be another highlight of the day.
After lunch, it will be time to check into the accommodation for the next two nights at Caves Wine Lodge. The first stop will be at Matevinis, one of Mendoza's more unique wineries. Not only are the winemakers formally from Achaval-Ferrer but the entire winery is run on solar power making this an eco-friendly stop for fine wines and impeccable service. In here, you will enjoy a tour of the winery and have tastings of various Argentinian wines.
Next, you will discover the sustainable vineyards of Finca Decero, which means "from scratch". This winery's hands-on approach to winemaking translates into fine, handcrafted wines you will sample during a special lunch featuring the seasonal flavors of Argentina. After lunch, you will return to the Caves Wine Lodge for a leisurely afternoon.
Before dinner, you will experience the varietals of another Mendoza winery: CARO. Built from a partnership between the Catena family and Barons de Rothschild, CARO transcends Argentinian and French cultures through its masterful use of each producer's signature grapes, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dinner will be next door at the famous Francis Mallmann 1884 Restaurante, the flagship restaurant of one of the country's most well-known chefs. Argentinian-style grilled meats are elevated here with a clay oven and wood-fired grill, and the wine pairings will make this dinner an event to be remembered for years to come.
On the seventh day of this tour, you will discover another of Argentina's famed wine regions. Before you embark on this journey though, you may take the morning to enjoy the plush amenities of the Cavas Wine Lodge one last time.
The new destination will be the Uco Valley. Before you arrive there however, you will stop at Bodega Ruca Malen for a multi-course lunch in the vineyards. Each course will be paired with one of the winery's varietals, all enjoyed with views of the Andes and the winery's expansive vineyards.
After lunch, you will check in The Vines Resort & Spa, known for its laidback luxury at the foot of the Andes where stone accents and earth tones in each room will compliment the natural beauty of the surrounding Uco Valley. You may explore the beauty of the resort and Uco Valley before joining the group for dinner at the hotel.
On the eighth day, your first full day in Uco Valley will start at the Bodega Salentein, a winery that produces familiar names like Killka and its namesake Salentein. Not only will you enjoy a tour of the beautiful winery and tastings of its finest wines, but you may also take in the exhibits at the winery's small art museum.
Afterward, you will head to Familia Zuccardi, a Maipu-based winery that recently opened a facility in Uco Valley. Upon arrival, you may take in the magnificent yet minimalistic architecture of this outstanding winery. Here, you will see firsthand the difference between the soils of Uco Valley and Lujan de Cuyo, and then you will taste the difference during the wine tasting lunch.
After lunch, you may return to The Vines Resort & Spa for an afternoon break. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner down the road at Gimenez Riiii Winery, a family-owned vineyard. The traditional barbecue dinner will be paired with wines straight from the bodega, a flavorful end to your first full day in Uco Valley.
Your last full day with Tango Tours will be filled with bodegas, learning experiences, and wine. After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel to Clos de los Siete, a collection of four bodegas spanning 2,100 acres of vines at the foot of the Andes Mountains.
The bodegas Monteviejo, Cuvelier los Andes, DiamAndes, and Bodega Rolland are run by four passionate Bordeaux families. Each bodega produces its own wine, but their collaboration, Clos de las Siete, is a must try product. After sampling wines from each of the bodegas, you will enjoy lunch at Bodega DiamAndes before returning to the hotel.
The rest of the afternoon will be yours to enjoy. The last dinner will be held at Casa de Uco, a wine resort with unforgettable red varietals. Here you will enjoy a few final Malbecs as you reminisce over your favorite food and wine experiences before bidding farewell to your traveling companions.
The final day of the Tango Tours program in Argentina will finish with an airport transfer which will be ready for you once you check out of The Vines Resort & Spa.
