SwaSwara is a luxury holiday space for those seeking wellness, healing, rejuvenation, and a path to self-discovery. You will stay in a traditional Konkan villa, modern yet austere, amid acres of greenery, with a yoga deck of your own and a stunning view of Gokarna’s pristine Om Beach and the Arabian Sea.

SwaSwara silently salutes the terrain, climate, and natural offerings of the land making sure that the architecture respects the topography and undulations of the location. Crafted in colors of the earth, using local materials like laterite and coconut thatch, SwaSwara’s 24 Konkan villas are in harmony with the land that nurtures her.

The dwelling unit at SwaSwara is a villa that invites you to revel in the open and green spaces created within the confines of walls. It affords all modern amenities, comforts and privacy, yet opens the skies and nature’s bounty to the senses. Each villa boasts a central open courtyard garden planted with herbs.

Every day, there will be several group yoga and meditation sessions. You will have a 30 minutes morning meditation, morning yoga asanas parallel group sessions for level one and two for 75 minutes, yoga Nidra, pranayama, or Laughter yoga for 30 minutes, evening intermediate level yoga asanas' group session for 60 minutes, and evening meditation for 30 minutes.

There will also be scheduled activities prepared for your enjoyment during your stay. The interactive cooking classes will be available at 11:30 a.m., on all days.

There will be boat cruises combined with a guided walking excursion from the town beach to explore Gokarna village and temples. On Thursdays, the guided walking excursion includes a visit to the weekly farmers market. The boat cruise is subject to weather conditions and is not available during Monsoons. You are allotted one cruise, any time during your stay.

You will have guided nature walks daily in the morning at 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon, but prior booking is required.

There is also guided bird watching once per week on Wednesdays. Prior booking is required for participation. Guided sessions for art and pottery are also available with the resident artist. This activity is available everyday excluding Sundays. Meditative art with the resident artist is at 12:00 p.m. everyday excluding Sunday.

Art therapy

Once you’re at SwaSwara, there are many ways to find your nirvana such as art therapy. SwaSwara believes that art urges voyages, enabling you to find and lose yourselves at the same time. You are invited to the art studio to experiment with just about anything.

From tribal Warli painting to watercolor on handmade paper, from origami to clay on a potter’s wheel, there’s something here to awaken the inner artist in you and open paths to self-discovery. So roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, and let your right brain take over.

Hatha yoga

Hatha yoga focuses on improving one’s physical health. Strengthening the body has a powerful effect. It in turn benefits mental health, spiritual well-being, and increases longevity. From the cuisine to the activities on offer, every experience at SwaSwara follows Hatha yoga principles. Authentic Hatha yoga sessions are conducted by highly-qualified practitioners.

The retreat will take place in Gokarna, India at the SwaSwara resort. Nestled atop a cliff overlooking the legendary Om Beach, SwaSwara is a serene and secluded resort located on the fringes of Gokarna, a temple town in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka. There is little at SwaSwara, apart from the rhythm of rolling waves and the meditative hum of birdsong to disturb your inner explorations.

The price of the package includes all meals, herbal teas, and fresh fruits. SwaSwara specialize in organic gourmet cuisine of fresh fish and vegetables cooked in almost zero oil with less dairy. They do not use any processed foods in their cooking and use molasses instead of refined white sugar as a sweetener.

For guests who have had their Prakruthi analysis done and been advised a Prakruthi Dosha-based diet, you will be served authentic Ayurveda cuisine. In addition, they also cater to guests who have been advised a raw diet by the naturopathy doctor, as well as guests who have vegan or lactose or gluten-free diets.

Boat cruises to explore the nearby beaches or Mirjan Fort are available at an additional cost.

The spa program for this retreat includes three Ayurveda and naturopathy consultations prior to any treatments, two relaxation therapeutic massages of 60 minutes, and an Ayurveda de-stress massage of 45 minutes.

For additional treatments, you will have to pay additional costs. Some of the available treatments include: a personalized juice detox to cleanse the body of toxins, supervised by the naturopathy doctor, a dosha or prakruti analysis and diet advisory by the Ayurveda doctor, and Ayurveda and naturopathy body and beauty treatments.
