Accommodation

The venue is the Surf Yoga Guesthouse, a traditional Portuguese home designed to welcome the practice of yoga and surf. Owned by a beautiful Portuguese family that shares their love for the ocean and the yoga mat, they will be taking care of you during this adventurous week.

Surf Yoga Guesthouse has an ocean view and is a walkable distance to the ocean. The guesthouse has five double rooms and one dormitory that fits six people. According to your budget, Swara Yoga School can find what suits you best for the retreat.

The retreat features yoga classes, natural cooking classes, and lectures on holistic nutrition and lifestyle that will help you reset old habits and create a new language for understanding what your body really needs. You also learn how to implement changes in your daily life and design you own health program with the help of holistic coaching techniques.

There will be also free time for you to enjoy any of the eight beaches around the venue, surf lessons, a cultural trip around the Unesco Heritage town of Sintra, and a few other surprises!

Yoga classes

The yoga practices are focused on balancing the five elements of the body and the 12 major meridians, a beautiful and powerful approach that opens the body gradually and invites change.

Natural cooking classes

You will learn how to cook according to the seasons, the five elements and most importantly, accordingly to your body condition.

Transformation healing sessions

As a way of supporting the week's process, you will have transformation healing sessions, where you will explore what could be holding you back from reaching your optimum well-being in your health, relationships, and life in general. These sessions will provide you with the means to overcome your patterns and behavioral tendencies that not longer serve you.

You will work with sacred healing energy to unlock the body from old programming that you are unconscious of and free the body and mind into a new level of joy! This self-development work is fundamental to any spiritual evolution.

Instructors

Sofia Araujo
Sofia is a yoga teacher, therapist, macrobiotic chef, and holistic health educator that shares a passion for healthy movement and living. She has been practicing yoga for the last 15 years and teaching internationally since 2006. Educated and certified in the styles of Sivananda, Ashtanga, Anusara, advanced Hatha yoga, and Vinyasa, she combines all her knowledge from yoga, bodywork, holistic health, and coaching to deliver an integral yoga education in all her trainings and courses.
Cathy Pearson
Yoga Arts Australia (Yoga)
Cathy has been involved with yoga since 1996. Since then, she has spent her years living in Thailand, India, Ireland, and more recently, Bali, deepening her understanding of the vast layers of yoga. She is a certified yoga teacher from Yoga Arts Australia. She has studied various styles of yoga including Iyengar, Hatha, Ashtanga, and meditation, as well as being a qualified cellular healing therapist. Her classes emphasize on a deep connection with the breath, clarity, and stillness of the mind, strength, balance, a graceful flow of moving meditation and the exploration of consciousness.

The coast of Portugal is beautiful, powerful, and rich with culture. Featuring long stretches of beach and perfect summer weather, the Portuguese coast is home to world class surfing, fine dining with fresh local ingredients, and the relaxed attitude of the Mediterranean. You will feel at ease and find the perfect balance of sun, fun, and yoga during your time in Portugal.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flights to arrive at Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). Transfer from and to this airport is available on request at an additional cost.
