Program

Day 1: Milan

Your English speaking private chauffeur will meet you at Milan–Malpensa Airport (MXP) for the transfer to the 4-star hotel in the historic center of Milan, few steps from the Duomo.

Day 2: Milan masterpieces and hidden treasures

Meet your private guide at the hotel for an exclusive walking tour through the historic center of Milan. You'll discover some of the best highlights of Milan together with exclusive, private places.

You’ll visit the magnificent Duomo, a gigantic church in late Gothic style, the stunning Galleria Vittorio Emanuele arcade, whose large size was extraordinary for the time it was built and the sign of the new modern time, Brera district.

While you’ll walk through the historic center, you will discover also the many hidden treasures of Milan: private, luxuriant gardens (Milan is rich in marvelous, manicured gardens). You will marvel in front of the Art Nouveau and Deco facades of many private buildings. You will stop also at the most ancient and luxurious gastronomic shop where you will visit the wonderful, huge kitchen and you will have a light lunch tasting some of the best gastronomic products.

Time at leisure in the afternoon, the Fashion Quadrilateral, considered the most important fashion district in the world, is waiting for you.

Day 3: Franciacorta sparkling wines, Italian design, and Iseo Lake

Pick up from the hotel for a full-day excursion by private car and English speaking driver to the Franciacorta area, where you will visit a truly unique winery producing Franciacorta wine, a precious type of sparkling wine that can be produced only in a small area around Brescia, a city located an hour from Milan and only whit two specific combined wine varieties: the Chardonnay and the Pinot.

Upon your arrival, you will be met by one of the owners and you will have a guided tour of this truly special estate, surrounded by gentle hills and some minutes from Iseo lake.

The reception of the winery combines the uniqueness of its landscape grape rows, with historic and avant-garde architectures, wisely merging antique and modern in a really successful way. It reflects the family will of paying homage to the history of international and Italian design, combining exposition pieces from Gerrit Rietveld, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Achille Castiglioni, Philip Starck, Renè Herbs just to point out some.

After the visit, your experience will continue with a picnic lunch in the vineyards in the shade of the vines, next to a natural park, tasting Franciacorta wines and typical Italian products. You will be provided with all you need to experience those wines within the vineyards: picnic basket, groundsheet, and specialties to enjoy with a bottle of Franciacorta wine (in case of bad weather conditions, you will have lunch at the winery).

Driving back to Milan in the afternoon, you will stop in Iseo, on the shore of Lake Iseo, less famous than Lake Como but has the fairytale views and pastel-colored villages of Como, without the thick crowds.

Day 4: Cooking class and hand-crafted artisans tour

This morning, you will enjoy a truly special cooking class in an elegant private home in Milan. Learning and dining with a true Milanese housewife give you the chance to be welcomed in like one of the family and dive into the traditions of the everyday.

Learning to cook in Milan is the perfect way to remember such an elegant and lively city. Why not try making the typical "mondeghili" meatballs, or the divine "osso buco"? Lombardy's famed for its rice and cheese, so pick up the technique for the perfect saffron risotto, a wonderful recipe to recreate at home. Learn how to prepare 3 local recipes; after the class, taste the fruit of your labor accompanied by local wines.

In the afternoon, another special experience awaits you. Together with your Milanese guide, you will discover the excellence of Italian tradition which makes great the Italian style all around the world. Selected artisans open their labs and disclose their knowledge, arts rarer and rarer to be admired and preserved. Capable hands working precious embroideries of Haute Couture dresses, refined crocodile bags, design frames for the most listed artworks, lacquer and hand-colored paper for interior decorations, fine porcelain for princely tables.
