This homestay specially caters to food enthusiasts who wish to come to Indore just to explore the food here. It belongs to an experienced professional chef who will take you on food walks, food tours, undertake a personal workshop with you. It is one of a kind experience where you share a home with a chef's family. Expect lots of home-made goodies and treats, like home-made bread, preserves, detox water, breakfast muffins and cakes etc

The rooms are well furnished with Mitsubishi AC, Cable TV with all HD Channels, Free Wi-Fi, attached bathroom with jaguar and plumber fittings and a decent library of cookbooks for you to browse through. You will have full access to the kitchen and lounge if you wish to make your own tea and meals.

The host stays on the first floor with his family and the guest rooms are on the ground floor, so the guests have privacy as well as they are easily accessible to you.

Indore is known to be the street food capital of India. It lies almost exactly in the center of the country, hence the cuisine is influenced by the neighboring states of the city. It is predominantly a vegetarian city and one can say it is 70% vegetarian and 30% non-vegetarian.

Indore has got the award for the cleanest city of India twice in a row, last two times they had an inspection. The climate is not too chilly and not too hot, it is not humid either, so perfect for walking. However, the best time to visit would be from November to February and then July and August.

The city of Indore is also known as Mini Bombay due to its proximity to Mumbai and the facilities available are more or less like Mumbai. It has a rich historical story, and the Royal family still have their heirs based in Indore.


The breakfast will be cooked by the chef himself and if you wish, you could get treated to a whole dinner cooked by him in front of you in his exclusive live kitchen. He specializes in French cuisine and has worked in Michelin starred Chef Raymond Blanc's brasserie in the UK.

The guest would normally be tasting the following on their visit to Indore:

  • Khopra Pattice (coconut patties)
  • Hot dog (Indore version is more like a burger)
  • Tandoori momos (steamed momos, marinated in spices and cooked over charcoal)
  • Shikanji (a chilled drink flavored with saffron and tastes like melted ice cream)
  • Dahi Wada (lentil fritters fried and then soaked in yogurt and topped with different chutneys or sauces and then the whole plate is tossed in the air, almost four feet ensuring nothing falls off it, thus providing free drama and entertainment to the crowd)
  • Chole Tikki (a sweet, sour and spicy stew made with boiled chickpeas, topped on a crisp fried potato patty and then finished with assorted sweet and spicy chutneys)
  • Garadu (this is from the yam family, cut into small pieces and deep fried till crisp and then tossed in secret spices and lots of lemons)
  • Moong dal halwa (a dessert made with soaked and pureed lentils, cooked in ghee)
  • Poha (breakfast dish made with flattened rice and topped with crispy noodles and raw onions)
  • Moong dal bhajiyas (fritters made with soaked lentils and tossed with fried chilies)

Things to do (optional)

On Sunday evening, you are free to explore the city. There is a nice temple, a royal palace where sound and light show takes place every evening, there is a palace of glass called Sheesh Mahal, plus one can roam around in central Indore and do window shopping on the streets.
