You will enjoy a comfortable stay centrally located within walking distance of Oktoberfest and many of Munich's major attractions. The 3.5-star hotel provides free Wi-Fi, daily breakfast buffet, and a private bath. The 3.5-star hotel is located at the Sendlinger Tor gate in Munich’s Old Town featuring designer rooms and a trendy lounge offering 24-hour drinks and snacks. This contemporary hotel was built in 2009 and renovated in 2016, features attractive turquoise interiors. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a flat-screen TV, a movable desk, and a granite bathroom with rain shower.

In designing the hotel, the inspiration from the lavish palaces dreamt up by Ludwig II was taken. The lounge is a refuge merging the baroque with the modern, a throne-like velvet sofa by Creazioni and ceramic table legs by Studio Kalff, for example, hark back to the pomp of Ludwig’s era without neglecting contemporary design. A dramatic mural of Neuschwanstein and a playfully monarchical ambiance make for a great backdrop for a healthy organic breakfast and a great start to your day.

Friday, September 17

Welcome to Germany! After you check-in to the hotel, you'll have a brief orientation before walking through Old Town to get the celebration started in Munich's legendary beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus! Raise a beer to toast the beginning of a week-long adventure for the record books! Oktoberfest begins tomorrow!

Saturday, September 18

Watch the Grand Entry Parade of Oktoberfest Proprietors and Landlords as they make their way to the Oktoberfest grounds (Theresienwiese). The parade begins right outside of your hotel. Or choose to line up extra early (as in 07:00) at the Schottenhamel tent to catch a glimpse of the Mayor tapping the ceremonial first keg of Oktoberfest Beer. When you hear the cannon blast at noon, "O'zapft is!" That means "it's tapped" and Oktoberfest has officially begun!

Sunday, September 19

For a look into true Bavarian culture and tradition, one should not miss this morning’s Costume and Riflemen’s Parade. If you lead an alternative lifestyle, you may want to check out Rosa Wiesn in the Bräurosl tent.

Monday, September 20

Feel like getting away from Munich and the Oktoberfest craziness for awhile? Treat yourself to a day-trip by train to the wonderfully romantic city of Salzburg, Austria, where the hills are alive with the sound of music. Salzburg is not only a famous movie set, it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Mozart. Perhaps an excursion is not your thing? There is more than enough fun to be had back in Munich at the Oktoberfest.

Tuesday, September 21

Tuesday is family day at Oktoberfest, where you’ll find reduced prices on rides and attractions until 18:00. But if you choose to leave the hustle and bustle of the city, it is suggested that you take a fascinating day-trip by luxury coach to the gorgeous Bavarian Alps for a tour of King Ludwig II's fairy-tale castle, Neuschwanstein with a short visit to the charming town of Oberammergau.

Wednesday, September 22

Today is a great day for exploring Oktoberfest; the sights, the sounds, and the smells. Revel in the fact that you are surrounded by a tradition over 200 years in the making. Be sure to check out everything Oktoberfest has to offer including amazing carnival rides, vaudeville shows, and dozens of food and souvenir stands.

Thursday, September 23

Spend today at your leisure, perhaps by renting a bicycle and exploring the Bavarian capital on two wheels, or joining a tour to learn more about Munich's dark past when Hitler's Third Reich tried to take over the world.

Friday, September 24

It’s time to say auf wiedersehen to Munich as you head for home or move on to another fascinating destination.

Note: Traveling with Spyglass Tours gives you the freedom to create your own itinerary. The itinerary above is meant to give you an idea of popular activities during Oktoberfest. The welcome drink and Oktoberfest reservations are the only planned group activities. Spyglass Tours will be happy to help you schedule optional excursions.

You will enjoy your Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. The Oktoberfest is a 10-minute walk away from your hotel, as is the Munich Central Station and Munich’s town hall at Marienplatz square. Sendlinger Tor subway station is a 2-minute walk away offering travel via U-Bahn, tram, and bus to all of Munich.

The Sendlinger Tor city gate is a rare vestige of Munich’s old fortifications and marks the southern extremity of the city’s historic Isar-side old town. Staying at the hotel, you're adjacent to the very center of town, perfectly situated for a stroll around the very heart of Munich. Just a few hundred meters from the hotel are the Marienplatz and Town Hall at one end of Kaufingerstraße, while a few blocks further on are other must-sees like the Viktualienmarkt, Frauenkirche, and Hofbräuhaus.

Munich Central Station with its direct connection to Munich Airport (MUC) is only slightly further off. The Sendlinger Tor underground station is just around the corner from the hotel, so Oktoberfest visitors can take the U3 / U6 line to the festival grounds. If you want to visit the source of the inspiration, the 19-century palace is only a day trip away.
