Embark on an exotic adventure and discover the red city, Marrakech. It’s your dream holiday adventure break that takes you into an amazing journey like no other into a mix of cultures with Arabic, African, French, and European influences. For the adventure traveler, it’s a full-packed action trip, exciting you to escape into the wild deserts and mountains, engage with friendly Berber people, and discover local taste to share with friends and family back home.
You will spend five nights in a riad in the Medina and the souks on a bed and breakfast type of accommodation. Riad means garden in Arabic. It is a traditional Moroccan multi-story house with an interior garden or courtyard. It is usually three to four stories high with each room opening onto the central open space. There are a lounge and eating areas, a couple of bedrooms and a kitchen. The roof top terrace is like a little piece of heaven on earth where you can relax.
Today is the start of your holiday. Following your arrival at Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK), your airport transfer service will take you to Riad accommodation. The Riad manager or staff will welcome you and show you to your room. They will also give you a short brief about the local area and the culture of Marrakech.
The rest of the day is yours to explore the souks and the sights of Marrakech. You can spy on those exciting bargains that you may want to snap up later. In the evening, you must visit the Jamaa El Fna Plaza and sample the fantastic local food that will be prepared in front of you. You will feel that the plaza has a life all of its own at night, unlike anywhere else in the world.
Splash Morocco will pick you up at the plaza and your guide will escort you to the coach. It will be a short, one-hour transfer out to the Ourika Valley where you will experience your first wild adventure trip with white-water rafting. Have fun and enjoy the breathtaking backdrop at the foot of the Atlas Mountain. After the trip, you will be taken back to Marrakech to freely explore some more.
Today will be an optional day of relaxing tour to the stunning Ouzoud Cascades or desert quad biking.
It is going to be a day for remote Atlas Mountain valley rafting. It is very different from the river rafting experience you had on day two. As you drift down the river, you will have the chance to glimpse at how local village people live. Lunch will be served while you are in an awe-inspiring location. When the activities are concluded for the day, you will be taken back to Marrakech by the transport service.
Today, you will spend the morning learning how to cook a traditional Moroccan tajine. For this cooking course, you will join a family as they show you how to shop for ingredients, haggle with shop-keepers in Arabic and then put all of this together to create Morocco’s most famous dish, the chicken tajine. Afterwards, savor the flavor of your new creation and take your new-found skills home to impress friends and family.
You will be presented with a range of activity options. But you can also choose to stay in Marrakech and have your very own adventure in the souks, getting all those bargains to take home with you.
Splash Morocco will arrange your airport transfer for your departure, wishing you could have stayed longer and hoping you are already thinking about planning your next adventure.
Two rafting sessions at Atlas Mountains are included in this holiday.
This adventure holiday will take place in Morocco. Marrakech is often referred to as the red city or the spice city. The combinations of the red and pinks in the buildings and the exotic spices you see in the souks would perhaps tell you why it has been referred to as such. It is like no other city in the world and without any doubt, the most exotic.
The city is a blend of old and modern culture. You will find trappings of European city such as familiar shops, hotels, and café culture. The strong French influence is reflected in many new villas and apartments that are occupied mostly by Moroccans.
The Medina is the old part of the city that will take you into a different world. The Berber people lived here for many years and their unique culture is an interesting experience to explore.
Lunch will be served during full day adventure trips. You will also taste the traditional Morrocan chicken tajine during your cooking crash course.
You can also opt to explore the souks and the sights of Marrakech to spy for bargains. In the evenings, visit the Jamaa El Fna Plaza and taste the fantastic local food prepared in front of you.
Please book your flight to arrive at Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Splash Morocco will pick you up from the airport.
