Dionysia was born in Marineika, Zakynthos, where her studio is located now. As a child, she remembers playing with mud under the lemon trees, trying to make small figurines and statues. After studying ceramics and paintings in Athens, Dionysia returned to Zakynthos in 1996 and opened her own pottery studio. Since then, she has created decorative and functional ceramics in her own workshop, which also houses a permanent exhibition of her work. As well as participating in personal and group exhibitions in both Zakynthos and Athens, she also likes to be involved in the local community with educational school programs, providing workshops for children. Her ceramics are different forms, colours and designs, inspired by the life and nature of Zakynthos itself.
Meet your host Antonio at Zakynthos Airport (ZTH) or port, who will transfer you to your accommodation. Famed for being the home of the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta, the Municipal Unit of Laganas will be your base for this fabulous culinary experience.
Take your time to unpack and settle into your new surroundings. Later, meet your villa hosts Antonio and Effie, who will tell you about all the things to see and do in this diverse resort over drinks and a welcome snack.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional welcome dinner, with magnificent views across the harbour and out to sea. Relax, with “kantades”, Zakynthos characteristic music, accompanied by the mandolin and guitar.

After nourishing your body with a traditional Greek breakfast, it’s time to let that creativity flow in your first ceramics session!
Antonio, your host, will drive you to the ceramic studio, located in the beautiful traditional village of Mareineika, where Dionysia will be waiting to welcome you. In today’s session - lasting three and a half hours - you’ll have the chance to explore Dionysia’s studio and artwork, before sitting down and thinking about your own projects.
With Dionysia’s help and encouragement, you’ll consider your own themes and pieces, working with all the necessary tools and materials. With the zingy taste of Dionysia’s homemade lemonade in your mouth, and surrounded by a vibrant scene of nature, you’ll be filled with inspiration.
This afternoon, you’ll be taken to Tsilivi beach - a glittering expanse of sea and sand where you can relax, swim and devour delicious Greek dishes at Paradise Seaside Taverna.
In the evening, enjoy a homemade dinner with your hosts, which will be accompanied by Antonio’s chilled house wine.
This morning’s ceramic workshop will allow you to continue with your pieces, developing and enhancing your artistry with Dionysia’s friendly encouragement.
Embark on an incredible turtle boat trip, with the opportunity to swim alongside some of the graceful loggerhead turtles. Visit the breathtaking Keri caves and Marathonisi Island - the perfect place for snorkeling, swimming or just a paddle.
Enjoy a traditional evening meal at the villa, with your hosts and fellow guests.
The inspiration of the day will come from get an insider’s view of Zakynthos daily life and meet local people and producers, who are excited to share their trade expertise with visitors. First stop is at Lithakia village to visit the Olive Press and museum to learn how the humble olive is transformed into the precious oil that gives Zakynthians their lust for life and sample the extra virgin olive oil with warm village bread.
Next stop is at Lagopodo village to visit the Grampsas estate: a family-run vineyard and winery. The son, Tassos, will talk you through the wine-making process and the display of former equipment, followed by a sampling of white and red wines with local cheese on the terrace.
With inspiration from nature, local culture and lifestyle, you’ll return to the studio for the final time. Dionysia will teach you her special techniques for glazing, and you’ll have the opportunity to add the finishing touches to your unique creations.
Next, at Dennis taverna in Machairado village, indulge into a festive meal based on land, sea and the season. Try a traditional fish recipe, with a gorgeous garlic sauce and a variety of other starters. Enjoy your meal under the shade and aromas of the vine trees.
In the evening, we will visit the historic region of Bochali. The panoramic views over the twinkling lights of the town below, across the harbour and out to sea, guarantee another amazing evening spent on Zakynthos island. Toast the experience with a drink and enjoy a light dinner in the magical atmosphere - an experience you’ll never want to end!
Visit the historical Zakynthos Town after breakfast. Discover hidden gems and the amazing history, culture and architecture of the Old Town. Take a blessing from the island’s patron saint at St. Dionysius church, then, relax at a café on the edge of the historical Solomos square, before you visit the local market and shop for top quality local products, delicacies and souvenirs.
Next, we will treat you to a delicious authentic souvlaki lunch at the port grill house. Picture succulent meat, pitta and freshly-grown vegetables, drizzled in olive oil - it’s simply irresistible!
Arriving back at the villa, you will have enough time to relax or swim before the magical sunset dinner. With captivating views over rugged crags and the ocean, shimmering below, it is a mesmerizing experience that you’ll never forget. Zakynthos is called the jewel of the Ionian Sea for a reason, after all!
Wake up to another fun and exciting day. Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime sailing experience, towards the captivating northwest coast of Zakynthos. Sailing past the secluded coves, crystal clear water, dramatic
sea caves and white sand, you’ll arrive at the mesmerizing Shipwreck Bay and the Blue caves - some of the most famous sights of the island.
In Orthonies village, participate in a “farm to fork” culinary experience at a family-run mountain taverna. Athina will provide a live cooking demonstration of free-ranged stuffed chicken, in tomato sauce, with plenty of opportunities for audience participation!
Take your place beneath the shadows of an ancient oak tree and enjoy the meal you helped to cook, alongside local wine, and homemade dessert to add that final sweet flourish.
Back at the villa, enjoy your evening at leisure.

In the evening, dress up for our night out at “Dennis” tavern. This is your chance to enjoy a traditional Greek celebration, with a great BBQ, local wine and Greek live music and dancing. Enjoy the sounds of the bouzouki while learning how to dance syrtaki, embracing and celebrating the traditions of a rich and beautiful culture. A grand finale to a great week!
This morning, enjoy your breakfast and make the most of your final moments. You can use the time to do a little last-minute shopping on Laganas Main Street, or head to Laganas beach, to feel the softness of the water, one final time. Your driver will take you to the airport or port in plenty of time for your departure.
