Stay at a traditional Thai style golden teakwood house, and relax being worlds away from the busy city. Discover some of the best herbs and spices from the region, and indulge into diverse delicious dishes of Thailand while you learn to cook them!
The Thai House is a traditional golden teakwood home stay, built in 1990. Since that time, it has been receiving many visitors from all around the world. Its location is unique: so close to the city and yet a world apart. As you will learn, the traditional Thai style has many attributes, so that it is comfortable in the tropical climate and rains. The rooms are open on two sides, providing cross-ventilation (there is no air conditioning), and the verdant nature and fans keep the rooms at a comfortable temperature.
Traditional Thai houses are composed of numerous structures that are added as the family grows. This Thai House has three parts (with six independent rooms), all joined on an upper terrace (a modern bathhouse is adjoining this). Meals are served on the lower floor. Two terraces surrounded by lush nature provide symphony for the senses; birds singing, monks chanting, fragrant flowers, hundreds of green plants, the occasional dog, and more. The Thai House can accommodate up to 50 people for lunch and very often groups travel to rom the Thai House by boat.
Transfer from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Bangkok hotel with guide, to the Thai House in Nonthaburi. The Thai House is a home stay in a beautiful, traditional Thai-style, golden teakwood house. Although located just 22 kilometers from Bangkok, it feels worlds away from the busy city. Upon arrival at the Thai House, you will receive a welcome drink. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the Thai House.
After breakfast at the house, visit an open-air market to buy ingredients in the early morning for your cooking lessons with an English speaking instructor. Taste your dish at the lunchtime. Dinner and overnight at the Thai House.
After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the Thai House and take you on a long-tail boat through the klongs, dropping you off at Ratchawong pier, to start a walk through the Chinatown area. Visit Talad Kao (Old Market), gold shops and pass the town where you can see the daily life of the Chinese families. Then drop by Pahurat Market, to see the colorful textiles. Continue to Old Thieves market. Chinese lunch (dim sum) at a local restaurant will be provided. After lunch, visit the Bangkok Folk Museum to see how people of Bangkok lived in the early part of the last century. Afterwards, transfer back to the Thai House. The rest of the day is free to be spent at own leisure. Dinner and overnight at the Thai House. Note: The Bangkok Folk Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Breakfast at the house and free at leisure, until departure transfer from the Thai House to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Bangkok hotel.
