Day 1 - Bangkok

Start your day with a fascinating walking tour of old royal Bangkok. This is a side of Bangkok most tourists don't see

Travel by ferry to two of Bangkok's most revered temples and the Grand Palace which are all in the neighborhood. Interesting food, Buddha factories and temples

Day 2 - Bangkok

You will tour one of Bangkok's biggest wet markets

Take part in a private cooking class in a slum nearby. Don't worry, this cooking school is clean, professionally run and gives you a glimpse into yet another side of Thai life - fascinating and fun

Finish the day at the home of Thai silk, Jim Thompson's house and a special treat - you will take a short walk to the homes of traditional silk weavers where you can see the whole silk making process in action - this is not on any tourist map

Day 3 - Ayutthaya

  • Travel to Ayutthaya
  • Explore 13th century ruins, ride an elephant, learn how to make Persian fairy floss by hand
  • Afternoon free to explore more ruins or relax in the pool
  • In the evening, watch the elephants bathe in the river
  • Dinner in the local market

Day 4 - Ayutthaya

  • Breakfast
  • After breakfast, visit another fascinating ruin
  • Next, head to the river to take a long tail boat down to the King's old summer palace
  • Later on, travel by rickety cable car to a bizarre neo-gothic style Buddhist temple where you will visit the palace
  • 14:00 return to Bangkok

Erawan Shrine

Easy to reach by foot or BTS (sky train), this small shrine is very popular with Thai people and it's packed with people praying, making offerings. When wishes come true, the resident god, Bhrama, is rewarded with Thai dancing so this is a great place to see Thai dances and Thai religious culture any time of the day.

Seafood night market

At night you can sit right beside the road and enjoy fresh seafood. Cheap and tasty with menus in English - keep in mind that you seated on a footpath right beside a major road.

Shopping

You're in the heart of Bangkok shopping; three fantastic shopping centers are here: Paragon, Siam Centre and Discovery. The bottom level of Paragon has incredible food courts and restaurants. Siam Centre is home to Thai designer clothe brands. And Discovery has great home wares and other shops. Paragon is one of the biggest shopping centers in south-east Asia and you could easily spend a day here. Fantastic book store, Kinokunia can be found here too.

Siam Square

A labyrinth of small lanes and larger streets crisscross through and under buildings and are packed with fantastic small designer boutiques. Incredible shoes, jewelry, sunglasses, clothes can be found here. Sizes can be a bit on the small size because this area caters for the rich young Thai ladies who want to look good.
