During this vacation, you will be accommodated at the farmhouse called "Masseria" located in Salento, in the south region of Apulia in Patù. Between ancient dry walls, immersed in the greenery of holm oaks and fields of ancient olive trees, protected by the historic hill of "Vereto", thanks to its careful refurbishment, the Masseria is an old mansion that has found its original splendors by resuming its ancient charms.
Conservation and enhancement of the elements of ancient Salento architecture, starred eighteenth century chianche, tufi, and ancient lime-dyed walls, and deep reservoirs for the collection of rainwater are just a few of the many elements that revive the guest's magic spent with the most modern comforts. A pleasant and relaxing atmosphere enriched by the large outdoor garden, typically Mediterranean, where the salt water swimming pool and the solarium area and relaxation where you can enjoy great appetizers at are located.
The Masseria is an 11-hectare estate of olive trees located in Castiglione, three kilometers from the Adriatic sea. It is a family-owned bed-and-breakfast hotel, which is also dedicated to the production of biological oil. It is possible to have dinner on site, since the owners manage a small restaurant where traditional handmade dishes with biological products are cooked at.
The philosophy behind the experience offered is to return to the past, to live a different holiday in a peaceful and healthy environment. At Masseria, you will find an organic garden, organic produce oil, and cooking classes with typical products of the earth. The Masseria has six rooms for a total of 18 beds, with extra bed in some rooms, three rooms overlook directly the Salento court, and three rooms overlooking the garden with swimming pool which is open from March to October.
The rooms, different from each other, are furnished with antiques, designs, and art pieces. They feature large flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, and mini bar. Breakfast is served in the Salento court or in the large salon within the structure. This is a place of relaxation and pleasure just a stone's throw from the sea, where you get lost and find yourself in the unique atmospheres of the wild Salentine nature, pampered and greeted by the passion, care, and service of the owner family.
Program
Day 1 - Brindisi
- Arrival at the airport. You will be picked up and taken to the farmhouse.
- Check in and be shown around the property.
- After a small break, your host will lead a tour of the farmhouse and give an explanation of how they do the oil (the season if from October to January). You will visit the mill where Emilio will explain the traditional procedure and have an oil tasting.
- Visit a winery and have tasting of local wines before returning to the farmhouse.
- Dinner at the farmhouse with typical food from Solento, such as biological vegetables directly collected from the farmhouse.
Day 2 - Lecce, Maglie
- Breakfast.
- Excursion to Lecce "Florence of the South" with a professional tour guide where you will have a tour in approximately two hours.
- Free time for shopping.
- Typical food leccese (Lecce) at a restaurant in the old town (closed menu).
- Visit to authentic pasta factory (Cavalieri) in Maglie with explanation of its origins and possibility to buy.
- Return to farmhouse.
- Two hours free time until dinner. Dinner will be fish dishes typically cooked in traditional way.
Day 3 - Otranto
- Breakfast.
- Excursion along the coast and visit to Otranto, the Castle Cathedral and the old quarter , with professional guide.
- Food-based sea urchins and fresh fish in Porto Badisco or meal in Otranto, depending on the season.
- Return to farmhouse.
- Free time until cooking class.
- Cooking class will be at farmhouse - explication and preparation of typical homemade pasta salentina and Italian fresh pasta.
- Dinner with handmade pasta and seafood.
Day 4 - Gallipoli
- Breakfast.
- Visit to Santa Maria de Leuca (Emilio Hara guided visit). The town is the easternmost town in Italy.
- Then you will visit the prehistoric sea cave, Zinsulusa.
- Return to the farmhouse.
- Lunch at the farmhouse.
- Visit to Gallipoli with a professional guide.
- Dinner in a pizzeria napolitana (the pizza originated from Naples).
- Return to the farmhouse.
Day 5 - Alberobello
- Breakfast.
- Visit to Alberobello with a professional guide.
- Free time for shopping.
- Tasting of typical food of the zone la valle del altria.
- Return to farmhouse.
- Free time.
- Dinner at the farmhouse.
Day 6 - Ostuni
- Breakfast.
- Visit to Ostuni with a professional guide.
- Free time for shopping.
- Dinner at the farmhouse.
Day 7 - Castro, departure
- Breakfast.
- Visit Castro and the prehistoric cave zinzulusa with a professional guide. (It depends on the period; alternatively, you will do another activity.)
- Lunch at the farmhouse.
- Transfer to the airport.
- End of services.

During this vacation, you will have excursion to Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli, Alberobello, Ostuni and Castro with a professional guide. You will also visit a winery on your first day.
Location
This vacation will take place in Salento in the part of Apulia which is located in Patù, Italy. In Salento, every season has a peculiarity and this is one of the reasons why it is so suggestive. In the winter and autumn season, there is the oil’s collection. In the summers, you are surrounded by a wonderful sea. During all the year, you can visit the Baroque Art Cities.
Patù is a small village in the immediate hinterland, three kilometer from the sea of Santa Maria di Leuca, the southern most point of Apulia where the Ionian seas are crossed Adriatic. In fact, it is a strategically positioned point for the discovery of the marvelous one Salento region with its beautiful white beaches and crystal clear sea, the cliffs at peak rich in mysterious caves.
There are Baroque cities like Lecce, Maglie, Nardò, and many others that are of the same importance or fortified towns. such as Gallipoli and Otranto. There is a beautiful hinterland to discover by walking or cycling along the streets, immersed in secular olive groves and ancient dry walls.

Masseria is a family owned hotel specifically bed and breakfast, which is also dedicated to the production of biological oil. For lunch on second day, you will have typical leccese (Lecce) food at a restaurant in the old town. Then on day four, you will visit Gallipoli with a professional guide and have dinner in a Napolitana pizzeria, the pizza that is originated in Naples.
