You will have the chance to visit the antique convent pastry shop, which is one of the most renowned Sicilian bakeries. Next, you will be transferred to Marsala, a city famous for the production of its namesake wine. Make a stop in Donnafugata winery. Donnafugata grew out of the commitment of a family in Sicily that has believed in the extraordinary ecological potential of its land and has 150 years of experience in producing premium wines.

Convinced that it is necessary to be open to change in order to grow and improve, Giacomo Rallo and his wife, Gabriella, launched a new production project in 1983, which is the Donnafugata. Their adventure took wing from the family's cellars in Marsala and the vineyards at Contessa Entellina, in the heart of the western Sicily, and soared as far as the island of Pantelleria.

You cannot miss the delicious red Mille e Una Notee and Donnafugata's version of the famous Passitodi Pantelleria, a sweet dessert wine with intense notes of apricot made partly from raisins on Pantelleria, an island off Sicily's southwestern cost.

You will also enjoy a guided tasting of 4 wines, in the charming sala delle botti, combined with bread, olives, tuna, arancini, focacce, and local cheeses. Later, check in at the hotel and get ready for a pleasant evening in front of one of the most peculiar landscapes of Sicily, the Stagnone di Marsala. You will enjoy a typical Sicilian lunch, complete with local fruit, cheese, and wine.

After that, you will transfer to Syracusa, a city with colorful history and a beautiful landscape, and you will check in at a charming and unique four-star hotel. Discover Sicily from an inner luxury perspective, where you will visit a historical and private cellar.

There, you will be welcomed by the owner, who is a dashing Sicilian baron, with a school boy glint in his eyes. You will be able to enjoy the fine wines produced by the baron, paired with some delicious local products. You will then head back to the hotel for your well-deserved sleep.

After that, transfer to Taormina and make a stop in Fiumefreddo for a visit to the ancestral home of the notorious Corleone family, at the heart of Francis Ford Coppola's classic nine-hour cinematic, the Castello degli Schiavi, which is the house of Don Corleone. This beautiful looking residence was built in 1700, as a country house for the nobility. The house was also used for several scenes throughout the Godfather films. Walk into the castle and meet the owner that will introduce to you the aim of the film. Continue on your journey to Taormina and check in at the hotel. You will end the night with dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 6 - Between sky and fire, Etna, and Taormina

You will see the highest active volcano in Europe and discover many habitats and beautiful scenery, see traditional villages at its slopes, and of course, experience the terrific power of nature.

Following the excursion, you will continue your drive to San Michele, an ancient estate located on the slopes of the volcano Etna. The farm, which belongs to the noble family of the Baron Scammacca del Murgo, is surrounded by extensive vineyards and has a panoramic view of both Mount Etna and the sea.

Mount Etna is the highest volcano in Europe, the climate and the volcanic soil helps give wines a unique mineral taste, typical of the region. At Tenuta, San Michele, they produce some of the best wines of the area, such as the Etna Rosso, Etna Bianco, and the extraordinary Murgo Brut. You will have a wine tasting and a guided visit to the wine cellar.

Start the morning with breakfast at the hotel, check out, and depart to Castelbuono, which is a nice village 20 minutes from Cefalù. Have a walking tour of the village and stop in a very well-known pastry shop to taste the famous pistachio panettone.

Have lunch in a typical restaurant, where you will enjoy a meal based on mushrooms and asparagus. Make a stop at a particular place, Abbazia Santa Anastasia, which is a former Benedictine abbey, built in the 12th century, in the hills high above the north coast.

The medieval abbey, or abbazia, is steeped in a natural landscape, so extraordinary that the present owner, entrepreneur Francesco Lena, originally purchased the land to turn the estate into a holiday resort. Instead, he began experimenting with international varietals such as Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as, the indigenous Nero d’Avola.

You will then continue on to Cefalù and check in at a hotel. Later, you will visit a picturesque medieval town dominated by the gold-colored cathedral, which is a Romanesque jewel built by the Norman king, Roger II. The interior is decorated with fabulous mosaics, executed in a spectacular array of colors on a gold background.
