My wife and I, as "older" travelers enjoy taking small group tours and leaving the driving and planning to someone else. In selecting Secret Italia, I had hoped that this company would give us a good experience without hassle. And Aldo's company came through! Rosaria, our guide, helped the fourteen of us on the tour learn about Sicily, providing seamless transportation and arrangements and making us all feel comfortable. She went the extra mile the one day I was under the weather, and I'm sure she did the same for others as well as they needed assistance. Her infectiously happy personality made us delight in the sights, sounds, and food of Sicily.

We have just completed a fantastic tour of Sicily with Secret Italia Tours. We arrived a couple of days early in Palermo to give ourselves time to recover from jet lag from Australia. We were so impressed with the organisation and planning that must have taken place throughout the tour. Everything ran like clockwork and our guide Daniela was terrific, so knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed all the hotels, from the Centrale Palace in Palermo to the Hotel Vila Paradiso in Taormina, our personal favourite. Our room was huge with a fantastic view, even from the bathroom. The food we had was incredible and we felt that a lot of thought had gone into the choice of our included meals. For the times that we were eating on our own Daniela always came up with suggestions for light meals, snacks or full meals. Our driver Marco was excellent and amiable and we were really so happy with the whole experience that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the tour to anyone who wants an unusual and different tour of Sicily.

We were on an Iberian Adventure and between the cruise and land tour we had a gap of five days; so I called Aldo at Secret Italia. He customized a "best of Portugal tour" for us which was perfect in every way from our amazing driver, Diogo Reis in Lisbon, who totally spoiled us to the guest houses: Dear Lisbon in the Santa Catarina District and Casa do Conto in Porto. This was the second time we booked with Secret Italia and I highly recommend them to anyone who is planning a holiday in Italy, Sicily, Malta, or Portugal. This is worry free traveling at its best. Thank you again, Aldo.
From my first conversation with Aldo, I felt like family. Our itinerary was wonderful. Rosaria, our tour director, was very caring and personable. We were also lucky to have the informative Christian as our guide twice in Malta. All our hotels were centrally located and our food experiences were amazing, especially our cooking lesson with Anna at Masseria Aprile. I really cannot say enough. Our holiday was perfect in every way, the sites, the scenery, and of course the people.

We were stopping in Sicily on a cruise and wanted a private tour for 10 of us, so we chose to work with Aldo, who was awesome! He was very responsive and flexible during the planning part, and then was great as our personal guide. He provided just the right balance of "guided tour" and free time to explore on our own. He is very knowledgeable and he couldn't have been more cheerful and fun. He took us first to Taormina, and then to a hilltop restaurant (we are foodies) in Castelmola that overlooked Mt. Etna. This was a perfect day in Sicily.

Our time in Sicily did not coincide with tours offered by Secret Italia Tours, so Aldo organized a 6 day personalized archaeological tour just for us, with excellent hotels, a capable driver, who was with us throughout the excursion, and expert guides who met us at the various sites, giving us detailed information of the archaeological sites and guiding us through the museums. We especially appreciated their discussions on the history of the many cultures that influenced the Sicily of today. The personalized tour allowed us all the time we needed to explore the sites in detail.
I had a great holiday in April, staying in Lecce, Matera and Vieste, visiting Alberobello (the highlight of the places we visited), Bari, Trani, and Castel del Monte, to name just some of the places we visited. These places were all fantastic but Aldo was perhaps the star attraction, as he is very informative and we learned a lot of things we didn't know about southern Italy. He is also a very patient person, always having a smile on his face, and is really well organised, allowing the trip to run like clockwork. Above all though, Aldo is very fun company and everyone on the trip was sad to say goodbye to him!
