It’s your choice

This holiday is all about you! You get the chance to choose what you want to do - either a full day of touring, tasting, and shopping for dinner ingredients followed with cooking, or an afternoon of learning to prepare your new favorite dish. Should you decide to tour and taste, Chef Valerie will take you on a tour of some of the culinary treats of Carmel. Wineries, chocolatier’s, and farm markets all await your exploration. There is even an optional hayride on a real working farm in the Salinas Valley which is also known as the “salad bowl of the World”. Chef Valerie will customize your experience so this hard choice is all yours!

In Chef Valerie’s kitchen

If your choice is to spend a fantastic afternoon with Chef Valerie as your cooking coach in her well-equipped kitchen, then be prepared for the perfect culinary experience. You will have discussed the details of what you want to cook well in advance. And remember, Chef Valerie received her culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, so perhaps ask her about that French pastry you always wanted to conquer.

Valerie Kazansky
Chef Valerie fell in love with cooking as a child, when she started helping her mother in the kitchen. She earned her teaching credentials from UC Davis and received her culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. In 1980, Valerie moved to the Monterey Peninsula and taught cooking classes at The Peppercorn in Carmel, at Monterey Peninsula College, and nutrition at Hartnell College. Teaching quickly expanded to catering and offering private cooking classes. Chef Valerie's passion for both cooking and teaching will become obvious when she welcomes you into her beautiful kitchen.
