Perfectly situated at the edge of Monterey Bay, and only steps from historic Point Pino’s, the Lighthouse Lodge and Cottages offers the quintessential coastal getaway. The property is split into two separate sides: the lodge side, and the cottages side. Each side has its own set of amenities and unique offerings.

The lodge offers hotel rooms complete with a private patio or balcony, and all rooms booked on this side include a continental breakfast in the lodge's breakfast room. The swimming pool is available to all guests and is located on the lodge side of the property.

The cottages side of the property offers larger, cottage-style rooms with fireplaces. Reservations made for this section of the property also include a made-to-order chef style breakfast in the cottages' breakfast room and evening hors d’oeuvers, as well as wine reception every afternoon from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The lodge offers four different room types with a choice of two double beds or a plush king bed with a gas burning fireplace and private balcony. There is also a Lodge Deluxe Suite, which also includes a separate living room and the chef made breakfast with wine reception.

The cottages offer four different room types, including a cottage studio with king bed and fireplace, which is handicap-accessible; the Cottage Junior Suite, which offers a king size bed, a full-size sleeper sofa, and a fireplace; and the Honeymoon Cottage, a 600-square foot room with fireplace and separate living area.

Just imagine dinner guests gathered around your table, candles lit, and a bottle of wine waiting to be poured. You make your entrance bringing plates of beautifully prepared boeuf bourguignon served over buttered noodles with haricots verts on the side; your guests are amazed at your talent. It is a real Julie and Julia moment!

When you enter Chef Valerie’s well-equipped kitchen, which just happens to include an English AGA, you will realize your Julie and Julia moment is happening. Upon your arrival, everything will be ready for your cooking adventure. Chef Valerie will guide you through each step and share some of her many tips for cooking that perfect meal. The grand finale to this perfect afternoon comes when you sit down at the table to enjoy the meal you and your personal chef have created.

    Chef Valerie fell in love with cooking as a child, when she started helping her mother in the kitchen. She earned her teaching credentials from UC Davis and received her culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. In 1980, Valerie moved to the Monterey Peninsula and taught cooking classes at The Peppercorn in Carmel, at Monterey Peninsula College, and nutrition at Hartnell College. Teaching quickly expanded to catering and offering private cooking classes. Chef Valerie's passion for both cooking and teaching will become obvious when she welcomes you into her beautiful kitchen.
