Ayurvedic Cooking Holiday in India

Aptly known as the “God’s own country”, Kerala is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Accommodation

During your stay, you will be accommodated in heritage homestays, ayurvedic resort and beach resort in different locations in Kerala. You will spend:

  • 3 nights in Mararikulam
  • 3 nights in the Kumarakom
  • 3 nights in Thekkady
  • 3 nights in Munnar
  • 2 nights in Cherai

You will be beginning and ending your journey in Kochi. Please note that the accommodation would be in twin shared basis. Single participants would have to pay an extra fee for a private room.

Program

Day 1: Marari

Arrival to Cochin International Airport (COK) where you will be accompanied and checked into your Heritage Homestay in Marari. Get your first welcome Ayurveda massage and relax for the day. 

Day 2: Marari

Start your day with breakfast and then your first cooking class begins. In the evening, you can go for a bicycle ride or take a dip on the beach.

Day 3: Marari

After breakfast, you will have some fish for your cooking class (catch by a fisherman). Enjoy the sunset on the beach. 

Day 4: Kumarakom

After breakfast, you'll make a move towards another heritage homestay amidst the famous backwaters of Kumarakom. After lunch, you will go for a canoe ride to explore the backwater region. 

Day 5: Kumarakom

You'll have a cooking class after breakfast. Later, you can go for a countryside walk or explore the nearby bird sanctuary. 

Day 6: Houseboat

You'll spend a day on the houseboat cruising in Vembanad lake, Kumarakom, and Alapuzha canals exploring the backwaters, and relaxing.

Day 7: Thekkady

You will head to Thekkady and go straight for another ayurvedic massage before check-in. You will enjoy an ayurvedic cooking class in the evening.

Day 8: Thekkady

A dawn to dusk program including hiking and rafting through some of the richest forest tracts of periyar tiger reserve. If you are lucky, you will see elephants.

Day 9: Thekkady

Thekkady is home to some of the finest spice plantations in the country and you will visit an organic garden today to go into the roots of spices. There will be a cooking class early evening to end your day.

Day 10: Munnar

After breakfast, you will head to Munnar, the home of tea plantation in Kerala. You will check in after lunch and you can relax for the day. 

Day 11: Munnar

You will visit the tea plantation where you can be a part of the 'make your tea' program with the pickers; you pick the leaves from the estate and process it yourself in their miniature factory. You will come back to the homestay for dinner and sleep. 

Day 12: Munnar

Free day until lunch, post which you will go for your cooking class with a world-renowned chef - Nimi. 

Day 13: Cherai

Early morning, you will head to Cherai. Cherai is a small town nestled in Vypin island, sandwiched between sea and a backwater lake.

Day 14: Fort Kochi

After breakfast, you will go to Fort Kochi for a day tour. You can spend your time shopping and exploring the beautiful streets of the town, famously known for its influence from Portuguese, Dutch, and British. You will return after evening.

  • Houseboat cruising in Vembanad lake, Kumarakom, and Alapuzha canals exploring the backwaters

Location

This tour will take place in six cities in Kerala. You will be visiting Fort Kochi, Mararikulam, Kumarakom, Thekkady, Munnar, and Cherai.

In this culinary tour, you will be provided with all three meals every day. The cuisine served would primarily include local delicacies from Kerala including fresh seafood.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 90 days before the arrival date.
