You will be staying in Ruthven House which provides excellent bed and breakfast accommodation. Ruthven House is set in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, recently voted one of the top 20 places in the world to visit by the National Geographic traveler magazine. The house itself dates back to the 1700s, and is steeped in history with the famous Ruthven Barracks a stone’s throw away.

The most famous guest believed to have stayed at Ruthven House was Bonnie Prince Charlie back in 1745. The Highlands of Scotland is of course home to many film locations, the most recently noted is the famous TV Series, “Outlander”, one of which is just three miles from Ruthven House! They offer guests four-star bed and breakfast accommodation in the main house and also have two cozy self-catering cottages, (Creag Bheag and Creag Dhubh, carefully converted from a former steading) with their own private parking and a large lawned garden to the front.

As you step through the front door, you'll be welcomed into the spacious entrance hall. This floor accommodates the guest dining room and the guest bedroom, Gynack, which has a king-sized bed with your own private bathroom just next door. This room was refurbished in February 2017 and now has a 39" flat screen TV.

They also have a second guest bedroom, Feshie, which can be a twin or king bedded room on the first floor with en-suite facilities. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in your room but please feel free to make use of the dining room with large screen TV throughout your stay. Internet access is available to guests staying in the main house.

Full Scottish breakfast is served in the dining room, normally between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. In the event that you have not brought a favorite book with you, they also have a good selection for you to browse through. In the warmer months, you are also more than welcome to enjoy their garden, shaded by the rare and ancient Wych Elm Tree.

During this five-day gourmet vacation, you will enjoy a gourmet dining night and a whisky tasting and tour at the award winning Dalwhinnie Distillery (inclusive of transport). You will have the day's at leisure for visiting Highland Wildlife Park, horse riding, hill walking, cycling, and opportunities to engage in many other activities.
