Cristina Alonso

Cristina was born in Burgos and now she lives between Madrid and Miranda de Ebro, ten minutes from Haro, the wine capital of Rioja. Her grandfather and uncle were wine traders in Ribera del Duero and in her family they always buy the wine directly from the winery, so wine and wine regions is something she knows very well. She spend seven years in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, and she loves to travel. After coming back to Spain she decided to create Vintage Spain - Rutas de Vino.

Jorge

Jorge has studied wine making at the local school, has worked in wineries in Spain and Portugal, and he is an official cultural and history guide.

My husband and I spent a day with Jorge visiting three wineries, eating a traditional lunch, and seeing the sites. It was fabulous. Jorge was everything you would want in a tour guide - personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. He took us to three different wineries that really showed the variety in the region. We also had lunch which was delicious plus he took us to sites such as castles along the way. On top of all this, he knew the history of the area, the wines, and could make recommendations for the rest of our stay. Really a wonderful day.

We highly recommend Vintage Spain. We visited Rioja this week and found Vintage Spain via TripAdvisor. We (somewhat) blindly selected them to help us arrange a private tour of three wineries. Best decision of our trip. The staff was incredibly responsive in advance, and the tour itself was top-notch. Ester, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, and very pleasant to spend the day with. The lunch was perfect. Beautiful views and food.

For my birthday, in May, I visited the Logroño region in Spain. Our time there was fantastic, which included two nights at the Hotel Villa de Laguardia which was super relaxing because of the spa facilities, but the best part of the trip was the day wine tour in Logroño. We visited three very different vineyards which had three very different experiences (1. Muga winery 2. Baigorri winery for lunch 3. Murua winery). My guide tour, Jose Manuel, was bang on time to pick us up from our hotel and was very knowledgeable of the Rioja region and vineyards, he went beyond by showing us additional vineyards that was not included in our itinerary (e.g. by showing us La Rioja, Bodegas Ysios building design by my favorite architect ,Santiago Calatrava). Overall, the whole experience was educational, engaging, friendly, and visual, but most of all very delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

This company arranged exactly what we were looking for in the La Rioja region of Spain. They found the perfect hotel accommodations for three nights and a full day of a guided wine tour. Not being familiar with the area and with the numerous wineries, the choices were a bit overwhelming and they helped to make our experience personal and special. We were picked up at our hotel and driven to four wineries: three for extensive tours and one for an exceptional lunch complete with wine pairings. They offered many suggestions and were happy to make any other reservations we requested as well. The day with our guide, Ester, was very comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. We felt like old friends, when parting at the end of the day. Being wine enthusiasts, we were surprised we were able to learn so much more from our personalized tours in the La Rioja region.

It was by far the best day I spent in Madrid. I could not have wished for a better end to my holiday, saved the best for last. The wine was great, the food was amazing, and our guide Enrique, was the cherry on top of the cake. He truly made the whole trip for us.

Outstanding services from first contact. Rutas de Vino - Vintage Spain is highly centered in the customer, has excellent understanding of customer's needs, and great desire and commitment to please the customer. Cristina, Maite, and Jorge (our expert tour leader) were outstanding. They provided excellent choice of wineries, all organized by Cristina, who is the owner of the agency. Cristina is very pleasant and helpful. My brother says that she is very patient because I tend to be kind of demanding. We highly recommend Cristina and Rutas de Vino - Vintage Spain for any trip in Spain. The private tours are very well organized and we learned so much about Spain and the wine regions. We would like to thank Cristina, Maite, and Jorge for the great experience. If you want the best wine tour in Spain, please ask Cristina and her staff to help you. They have the highest quality standards and high business ethical principles.

Julio picked us up in Bilbao and we were off to our adventure. Having never been to Rioja and with very little knowledge of Spanish wines, we were excited to encounter something new. And we sure did! Two wineries, Valpiedra and Valdelana, were two great picks with two great stories. Being there on September 19th, we were able to watch the harvest and taste some of the juice. Our two guides at these wineries were awesome and very passionate about the wines. To top off the day, we had lunch at Restaurante Mari in the town Rivas de Tesoro. The lamb was superb, as well as the wine. Julio was very attentive and full of fun facts and knowledge. This was a full day, but a satisfying one. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone interested in wine.

This was a first class trip! Ester and Christina were very selective in the wineries we visited, and our personal guide, Jorge, was outstanding. Each of the ten days offered something special in the winery visits, historical site visits, and of course food and lodging. I would not change a thing!
