Cristina was born in Burgos and now she lives between Madrid and Miranda de Ebro, ten minutes from Haro, the wine capital of Rioja. Her grandfather and uncle were wine traders in Ribera del Duero and in her family they always buy the wine directly from the winery, so wine and wine regions is something she knows very well. She spend seven years in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, and she loves to travel. After coming back to Spain she decided to create Vintage Spain - Rutas de Vino.
Jorge has studied wine making at the local school, has worked in wineries in Spain and Portugal, and he is an official cultural and history guide.
My husband and I spent a day with Jorge visiting three wineries, eating a traditional lunch, and seeing the sites. It was fabulous. Jorge was everything you would want in a tour guide - personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. He took us to three different wineries that really showed the variety in the region. We also had lunch which was delicious plus he took us to sites such as castles along the way. On top of all this, he knew the history of the area, the wines, and could make recommendations for the rest of our stay. Really a wonderful day.
We highly recommend Vintage Spain. We visited Rioja this week and found Vintage Spain via TripAdvisor. We (somewhat) blindly selected them to help us arrange a private tour of three wineries. Best decision of our trip. The staff was incredibly responsive in advance, and the tour itself was top-notch. Ester, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, and very pleasant to spend the day with. The lunch was perfect. Beautiful views and food.

For my birthday, in May, I visited the Logroño region in Spain. Our time there was fantastic, which included two nights at the Hotel Villa de Laguardia which was super relaxing because of the spa facilities, but the best part of the trip was the day wine tour in Logroño. We visited three very different vineyards which had three very different experiences (1. Muga winery 2. Baigorri winery for lunch 3. Murua winery). My guide tour, Jose Manuel, was bang on time to pick us up from our hotel and was very knowledgeable of the Rioja region and vineyards, he went beyond by showing us additional vineyards that was not included in our itinerary (e.g. by showing us La Rioja, Bodegas Ysios building design by my favorite architect ,Santiago Calatrava). Overall, the whole experience was educational, engaging, friendly, and visual, but most of all very delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
