You will be spending one night in New Delhi, three nights in Varanasi, and eight nights in Rishikesh.

Incredible India! Join this epic adventure discovering India’s prime local spots. The tour features two main destinations of spiritual significance along the river Ganges, which is regarded as a goddess in Hindu culture. After getting to know each other in Delhi, you will travel to the holiest city in India, Varanasi and spend three nights there. Then, fly to Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World, located in the foothills of the Himalayas where the holy river Ganges flows through.

You will be staying there for seven days (eight nights). Every day includes one yoga and meditation session with your accompanying yoga teacher Katrina Thomson or with local teachers where available.

The adventure is a mix between yoga, relaxation, sightseeing, cultural experiences and some physical activities out in nature. All in all offering you the ultimate experience of India one could imagine, paying special attention to the spiritual side of India and immersing ourselves into the practice of yoga.

Delhi

Delhi is the starting point of our journey. You will be staying at the authentic Bajaj Indian Homestay where you will be having a yoga session with Katrina on the rooftop. In Delhi you will get accustomed to India, have a general introduction and a yoga session. From here you will fly to Varanasi (flight included).

Varanasi

The spiritual centre of India, Varanasi is located at the Ganges River. The holy city of Varanasi, or Benares as it was called in Ancient India, preserves much of India’s older culture. The winding small streets with old buildings will take your heart and soul years back in time. You will stay for 2 full days and 3 nights in Varanasi in one of the prime hotels right on the river Ganges.

On the first day you will explore the streets and have a look at the burning ghats, the place where cremations take place. Although perhaps not the most pleasant sight, the burning ghats offer an interesting insight into the Hindu culture. Being cremated in Varanasi means that the person will achieve immediate Enlightenment, Samadhi or Moksha. On the second day you will explore the Hindu Monkey Temple and during the time of sunset you will take a boat cruise on the holy river Ganges, giving you the best perspective of the river side front of the much revered city of Varanasi, an experience not to be forgotten during this lifetime!

Rishikesh

Included in the fee is the flight from Varanasi to Rishikesh, saving you a lot of time traveling and making your journey more comfortable. In the afternoon of the 4th you arrive at your final destination, Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World, in the foothills of the Himalayas. You will stay for 8 nights in the spiritual center of Rishikesh, close to the river Ganges and surrounded by ashrams and bearded holy men.

The accommodation is super comfortable with your own yoga hall and rooftop where you will have most of your morning yoga sessions and meditations. At least 4 mornings you will have yoga with the best teachers in India that Roy has gotten to know in the 10 months that he lived in Rishikesh.

On the other mornings you will have yoga with your very own fantastic Katrina and one session with Roy. Included are also one special Yoga Nidra meditation session with Roy and his live instruments. Every day you will also be undertaking some activities. Try your hands at cooking the most delicious Indian dishes at the best cooking school of Rishikesh with the talented Amit.

Agra (optional)

If you do not want to leave India without seeing the Taj Mahal, there is the opportunity join Roy to Agra on the 13th and 14th of October. For those joining for Agra you will take the train from Delhi to Agra in the afternoon of the 12th of October. This 3 hour train is a fun way to meet locals on our travels. You will be staying in the Atulyaa Taj Hotel, less than 600 meters away from the Taj. From the rooftop of your hotel you will have a view on the Taj and that is exactly where you will have your morning yoga session with Katrina on the 13th.

You will then visit Fatehpur Sikri, which is an old Mughal palace of which the emperor tried to combine Christianity, Hinduism and Islam into one religion, this you can see back in the incredible architecture. You will visit the 'Baby Taj' in the afternoon. In the morning of the 14th you will visit the Taj mahal for sunrise, after breakfast you will take the train back to Delhi.

Including the train journey to and from, entry fees, one night in Delhi and one night at the Atulyaa Taj Hotel in Agra and 2 meals a day amounts to 400 AUD or 300 USD. The Taj Mahal is India's most famous sight, and for good reasons. The sight of the Taj is a jewel in the eye.

Kunjapuri Temple

Travel to Kunjapuri Temple to see the sun rising above the snow peaked at Himalayan mountain peaks and then trek down through India’s nature.

Wild water rafting

Wild water rafting on the river Ganges with some amazing sights of the Himalayan foothills on the way.

Maharishi Mahesh Ashram

Explore the Maharishi Mahesh Ashram where the Beatles stayed and wrote some of their albums.

Neelkanth Temple

Trek to the Neelkanth Temple, where Hindu Deity Shiva drank the poison, and learn about Hindu mythology.

Lecture on spiritual yoga

Attend a privately organised lecture with one of Rishikesh most revered spiritual teachers to gain more knowledge about the spiritual side of yoga and to take a deep look into your being.

Aarti

Experience special evening watching Aarti, a devotional performance at Parmath Niketan Ashram, along the banks of the Ganges experiencing India’s real spiritual side.

Indian classical music

Be fully amazed by a privately organised Indian classical music concert featuring the “sitar” and “tabla”.

Meditation

Meditate in the Vashista cave and experience the calmness of its energy.
