"Although staying here only one night, this was a lovely place. It was a perfect distance to all the great activities in Siem Reap! We loved it. I also picked up the best Angkor Wat guidebook that I saw during our week long stay from this fancy, cute, awesome hotel. Cambodian people are so nice."

"This is one of the most attractive hotels we have stayed in in the Far East. The separate houses are spread around a beautiful tropical garden and swimming pool. The bed was comfortable and the vital air conditioning worked well. We didn’t get bitten by mosquitoes inside the room (we sprayed the room as suggested), but we did get bitten outside, so you need to be rigorous about applying repellent, especially from around 4 p.m. onward. Food was delicious, especially home-made bread and jams at breakfast and the amok (curry) at dinner. Cocktails were excellent too, notably the pineapple chili margarita. We used the same tuk-tuk driver attached to the hotel for all our outings and it was good to feel we could rely on the hotel staff to advise us about trips and guides. All staff were charming, friendly and helpful. It’s a half hour or so walk from the center (a pleasant stroll by the river), but we liked being in such a peaceful and green environment away from the madness of Pub Street. We found a great local restaurant, Marum, nearby which supports street children (and does wonderful food)."

"We stayed for a week and enjoyed the excellent staff service and great food. The `cooks in tuk tuks classes were a lot of fun. The lovely pool is in a shady garden that provides real relief after a day of visiting the sites."

"I stayed in a nice large room with a large adjoining balcony. Furnishing were bare basics, although the cold fridge, A / C, and fan provided creature comforts. Mosquitoes were a major problem which prevented us from using the balcony, and made the swimming pool a sort term venture most often. The pool was, unfortunately, often crowed with kids from the neighborhood who were allowed there when a hotel purchase was made. The breakfast was adequate, although hot food was limited to eggs and toast (home-made bread). Fresh fruits and cereals were served in a buffet service. All day help yourself coffee was a nice touch, and the coffee was a good Cambodian brew. The staff was both friendly and helpful, and the hotel has a nice casual ambiance. The cookery class was money well spent."

"This is a haven of peace! We wanted to stay somewhere quiet with a pool and this was the perfect place. The service and food were amazing too. Our Tuk-Tuk driver Hun was the best. The only issue was the mosquitos; they should put a net outside on the openings that lead to the shower."

"We have been to a few cooking classes in various places and this beat the pants off all the others. The market tour conducted by Deborah was informative and just fascinating in explaining a multitude of unfamiliar products, practices and processes. And a major assault on the senses, in a good way. The cooking class itself was fun. We got to do heaps of things rather than just watch as we have sometimes experience elsewhere. And the staff are just delightful friendly people with smiles as wide as the universe. Loved every minute. Also loved eating what we cooked. We could not have been happier with it."

"Like coming home. Staying at The River Garden for the fourth time, yes I love it so much. A beautiful small hotel, great staff, and a caring owner and manager. Lovely spot just on the edge of town, an easy tuk-tuk ride in with great tuk-tuk drivers you can book for a day or a quick trip to town. It is so comfortable, brilliant food, beautiful pool all in a gorgeous garden. Try it!"

"First Time in Siem Reap. I write this review a bit late as we visited in June 2015, but, better late than never. Wonderful place to stay. Loud with the frogs and also lots of Mozzies but you are in a dense foliage and this is what you get. The rooms lovely and big, the pool is wonderful, and the food is fantastic. I had my adult family with me, six in total, and they loved it. All the snacks on the menu that we could order all through the day was great. Needless to stay eating lunch and dinner traditional style was not an option as we just snacked all afternoon. We did have a few dinners here and in town. If you are a foodie, this is the place to come! It is a bit too far to walk into town but local tuk tuk guys are excellent. I will be coming back in 2017 and will seriously consider staying here again."

"I stayed here for a couple of nights on a visit to Angkor Wat. It's very convenient for getting out of town and the hotel is good at helping you arrange transportation. Getting downtown takes about 15 minutes walking. There is a pool and the restaurant was popular. There are lots of insects, so I would recommend taking insect repellent in addition to what the River Cottage provides."

"River Garden Siem Reap hotel provided a lovely oasis away from the busy streets of Siam Reap and the crowds at Angkor Wat. Our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool, giving us a peaceful area to sit after a long hot day. The staff was extremely accommodating and we would highly recommend the food at the restaurant, for both quality and price. Whilst the hotel is 15 minutes away from the main area of Siam Reap, this provided an opportunity to get away from the sights and sounds of the town. A cheap tuk tuk ride is always an option, so being away from the center was not a problem for us."
