Join Pranaya for this annual journey to the 'Pink city' of Jaipur to celebrate Holi, also known as the festival of color or the festival of love. From yoga and art to language and computer skills, you will be free to create your own unique, teacher-student experience with the children of Jaipur. This retreat will not only allow for emotional and physical restoration, but for spiritual fortitude, and a life-changing experience amongst the rich and vibrant culture of India.
You will stay in a luxury hotel in Delhi and a boutique four-star hotel in Jaipur. Both places have outside oasis and gift shops so even on days that you feel like being low key, there is plenty to do within the hotel grounds. Bathrooms are private with American standard toilets in the hotel and many restaurants.
This retreat is a wonderful mix of daily yoga, volunteering in a school in the slums of Jaipur and cultural visits and activities. You will stay in comfortable accommodation but at the same time taste the local culture. You will start and end your trip in New Delhi. On the second day, you will go to Jaipur where you will stay for 10 days.
In just one week of volunteering, you will not only leave behind a positive impact on a wonderful, deserving community but develop memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. This year, Pranaya is planning on reaching out to work with a local eye doctor so that they can provide vision care to all 65 children in this project through the 'Yogamour Sees Seva project'. They will need your help to pull this clinic off as well as bring your own unique light into the school while you are there.
No day will be completed without a dose of traditional Indian culture; look forward to sari shopping in the bustling marketplaces, authentic Indian cooking class, and exploring ancient temples, palaces, and mausoleums. Optional journaling, meditation, and yoga practice will provide solace and reflection to the days well served. Pranaya will also offer a few special focus workshops to help you deepen your practice of yoga on and off the mat.
All excursions including cooking class, block printing, guided tours, paper making, and entrance fees to all castles and forts and festivals are included in the price.
The retreat will take place in New Delhi and Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
Daily breakfast is included. The hotels where you stay grow much of their own food and can accommodate all diets providing safe organic produce to ensure that even raw salads are safe. There is an endless amount of coffee and tea every morning as early as you need it at the hotel.
Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Pranaya will pick you up from the airport.
