One Week Poland Culinary Vacations in Wroclaw & Silesia

  • Zamek na Skale Castle, 57-540 Lądek Zdrój, Trzebieszowice 151

Flavors of Lower Silesia and Wroclaw

Our Lower Silesia culinary vacation offers a fantastic introduction to a rare gem in the world of European cuisine. It remains a little-known culinary destination, unless, of course, you are of Polish ancestry. In that case, you'll remember eating delicious, traditional Polish food during holidays while enjoying the music, dance, and rich traditions so intertwined with the cuisine. Whether you join us as a traveler discovering Poland for the first time, or you are seeking to reconnect with your own family traditions, this will be a unique and meaningful vacation that provides a strong sense of home in the midst of new experiences.

Legendary hospitality and culinary traditions

People who have settled in the Lower Silesia region come from many different parts of Poland and Europe. They are known for their hospitality and willingness to share their agricultural lifestyle with visitors, which is one reason why agrotourism is growing so rapidly here. We'll visit agrotourist farms and participate in hands-on cooking classes. With the local farmers as our teachers, we'll learn how to prepare both regional and traditional specialties. After we've dined and cooked with chefs in some of this vibrant city's best restaurants, an architectural and historic tour of Wroclaw will round out our experience.

"Poland Culinary Vacations was a wonderful tour. We had a small group, the awesome owner Sarna Rose, very knowledgeable guide Ala, who explained many things to us and also tried to teach us to speak and sing in Polish (this may take a little work) and our own talented driver Wojtek, who knew all the short cuts. We learned many of the customs and histories of the area. We cooked, ate and had a wonderful time. The entire tour was very organized, informative and loads of fun. As a travel agent, I will do my best to promote this company and will be back to Poland as soon as I can."

"As the descendant of a Polish mother, I felt the connection while visiting the country of my grandmother's birth. Little did I know that I would experience such a memorable trip as I did with Poland Culinary Vacations. Not only did I learn more about the country of my ancestors, but I also had the opportunity to prepare foods with several groups of authentic Polish cooks (one being a fantastic chef). I not only leave with the memories from the trip but with various recipes that I helped assemble and eat while in Poland. Now I will not only be able to share the pictures of my trip but also the foods I have enjoyed. Sarna was a delightful, knowledgeable and helpful group leader who provided us with a Polish guide (Ala) and driver (Voytech) who took excellent care of us. I will not hesitate to recommend Poland Culinary Vacations."

"What better way to enjoy your first trip to Poland than to learn about the country through its cuisine. Sarna Rose's company, Polish Culinary Vacations has done just that. I have just returned and am full of memories of the wonderful food I enjoyed eating in restaurants and making typical Polish dishes with the women in two villages. To top that off, we were given a special one-day Polish cooking class by Chef Marek of the Culinary Institute of Krakow. I know Martha Stewart is smiling."

"Our group of two couples just returned from a fantastic time in southeastern Poland thanks to Polish Culinary Vacations and owner Sarna Rose! Before joining the tour, we enjoyed deluxe accommodations and five-course gourmet dinner at Hotel Copernicus - a great start to our adventure. The next day, we joined the tour which included 10 tourists, Miss Rose, a very knowledgeable history and culture guide (Gosia) and excellent driver (Wojciech) - all spoke fluent English and helped us to learn some Polish. We traveled together for six days, starting in the graceful city of Krakow with its treasure-trove of European antiquities. "

"From the city, we traveled by comfortable minivan (with good Wi-Fi) to the alpine community of Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains where we were treated to cooking experiences with members of three different outlying villages, a Highlander craft lesson, and sight-seeing. The distinctive wooden architecture in this part of Poland is charming; the tour featured stops at UNESCO heritage and other interesting sites (e.g., a cheese-making hut). One of the sites was an active church built in 1490. Deluxe accommodations were included - Villa Marilor is a boutique hotel with a spa in the heart of Zakopane with an excellent restaurant. The tour included rafting down the Dunajec River with 'masters' who expertly guided our traditional wooden vessel through the scenic gorge. "

"We returned to Krakow where we toured city sites including the open-air food market, Wawel Castle, St. Mary's Church and Main Market Square (largest medieval square in Europe), Cloth Hall, Jagiellonian University and more. The minivan took us a short distance to the extensive and fascinating Wieliczka salt mine. We also enjoyed a final cooking experience with professional Chef Widomski at his culinary institute. "

"Hotel Maltanski provided a comfortable lodging within easy walking distance of the heart of old Krakow and we were able to extend our stay to accommodate our return flight plan. We highly recommend Polish Culinary Vacations (PCV). PCV offers tours in several other regions of Poland. Prior to departure, Miss Rose was very responsive to our email requests and phone calls - all aspects of the trip went smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to travel in a small group with such a knowledgeable and friendly team."

"I recently spent a wonderful week in Lower Silesia, Poland, participating in a culinary tour. Our accommodations were great staying part of the time in a 16th century castle! How often can you say that, lol. It was a beautiful place to stay in the countryside of Poland. We spent part of our time in the country visiting some of the villages and participating in the hands on cooking with the village ladies. These wonderful women cooked and sang for us sharing their cooking knowledge. We made pierogi, golabki, and red beetroot borscht among the many dishes they shared with us. Our week was busy with touring as well as cooking. We got to experience the Polish culture and history of the area. We ate in fine restaurants, eating the tasty Polish cuisine. Being third generation Polish I found it a very emotional trip. My Grandmother had grown up near the area I was touring and I felt a part of the country. My thanks goes out to all who accommodated us, especially Sarna, the President of the Poland Culinary Vacations, Inc"

"I would like to offer my thoughts as a non-culinary person (that means my wife doesnt even allow me in the kitchen). I really didnt want to go on this trip. For that reason I thought, for sure it would be pretty boring and, perhaps embarrassing if I had to do anything. However, to my colossal surprise it turned out to be a very stupendous experience. I thoroughly enjoyed everything, including the cooking classes. You did such an amazing job of blending trips to historical sites, exposing us to local customs, visiting production facilities of interest, and providing exposure to the Polish customs and heritage that was embodied in the cooking classes. I actually enjoyed learning about the cooking traditions. Joan and I would like to thank you and Paulina so very much for such a great insight to Poland. Poland will be on the top of my list of places to go."

"We really enjoyed our visit to Poland and we want to thank you and Paulina for all you did to make it an enriching experience. My Dad was still talking about how much he enjoyed the culinary trip and how surprised he was to be a guy, and have that much fun on what he thought would be a vacation just for the ladies. He is ready to go again! We loved Poland. We hope to be back to explore other areas. Diana and Eric already made the salmon and spinach pierogi on Sunday! We are looking forward to getting the other recipes, well all be doing Polish dinner parties in the upcoming months."
