Day 1: Arrival

Arrive through the day. By early evening, there will be an orientation program to Indian cuisine. This is followed by a visit to an authentic Goan restaurant. The restaurant is an extension of a delicately preserved old Portuguese house. A large array of artifacts in the form of instruments for guests playing, glass jars, arboric carvings, and age old vessels of culinary use, adorn the whole of the sitting area, creating an atmosphere of a little museum, in the true Goan spirit.

Day 2: Cookery class

Start your day early with yoga by the poolside. This is a beginners session and will include easy asanas. After breakfast, participate in a short cookery class where you will learn to make Indian snacks. In the evening, you will be introduced to the famed mustard fish of Bengal and other regional Bengali delights, which you will then relish for dinner.

Day 3: Spice Village trip

Start your day early with yoga by the poolside. Later in the morning, take a trip to the Spice Village and discover the secrets of Indian cuisine. This is followed by a traditional Hindu-Goan lunch at the Spice Village. In the evening, discover the cuisine of Western and Coastal India. Enjoy the feats of your culinary prowess for dinner.

Day 4 : Market trip

Practice yoga again in the early morning. Today, your chef will introduce to you a variety of fish and vegetables at the local wet market. Be amazed by the variety of fish and take in the local colors and smells of India. After the market trip, enjoy a traditional Indian thali lunch. The evening will be a day of Kashmiri cuisine, from the Northern most part of India. Dinner will be served after.

Day 5: Beach visit

As always, there is yoga for the enthusiasts in the early morning. The rest of the morning is free. You may want to spend some time relaxing on the beach or enjoy the surroundings at leisure. Late afternoon, you will head off to the beach where you will see the fishermen bring in their catch. Your chef will pick out the freshest seafood for you to cook later in the evening. Seafood dinner will be served.

Day 6: Fishing trip

Today is a no cooking day! You will go out for a fishing trip to a nearby island. You can swim, snorkel and fish. Have a fresh seafood barbecue with the catch of the day, washed down with unlimited beer. Dinner today will be a Goan meal in a typical Goan beach shack.

Day 7: Departure

Departure from the hotel. Your chef will be available to you for any last minute clarifications or questions you may have on your week long Indian culinary journey.

This package includes a fishing trip to a nearby island and a trip to the Spice Village.

This culinary tour will take place in Goa, India. Goa is a popular holiday destination due to the combination of its picturesque beaches, accessible culture, and laid-back atmosphere. Sleepy villages and myriads of white churches still characterize this lotus-eaters paradise, where the romance of the past lingers on and the mood is as gentle and unhurried as the undulating countryside. There are paddy fields and dense coconut palm groves and markets that are lively and colorful.
