Just a few minutes’ drive from San Gimignano in central Tuscany, with easy access to Pisa, Siena, Florence, and the Tuscan coast, this wonderfully restored farming estate dating back to the Strozzi, a noble family of the Florentine period, offers a wide selection of self-contained apartments with wide rural vistas to suit everyone's needs.
Working with the finest craftsmen from across the region, twelve traditional old farmsteads have been lovingly restored and converted into tasteful, fully equipped, self-contained one, two and three-bedroom apartments, each with access to a swimming pool and barbecue area.
The twelve farmhouses on the estate are all practical and very functional. In each apartment, a Tuscan Renaissance theme is combined with the comforts of modern life. The floors and ceilings in Tuscan cotto, the aged wooden ceiling beams, and the furnishings create a warm and homely atmosphere within the apartments. All apartments are provided with modern facilities, including spacious bedrooms, modern kitchens, laundry facilities, en-suite bathrooms, quality bed linen, and towels.
In this comprehensive cooking and wine tour, learn the best of Tuscan cooking and life with four exciting Italian cooking classes covering the main ingredients and sauces, fish and seafood, pasta and ravioli making, as well as risotto, scaloppine, and carpaccio, with up to 45 recipes. You will enjoy a visit to the wholesale market, where you will find fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, cheese, and extra virgin olive oils.
Also, you will go to Parma and Modena to see the production of Parmigiano Reggiano, prosciutto di Parma and aceto balsamico tradizionale (balsamic vinegar). Excursions to Siena and Lucca are also part of this holiday and will include wine tasting in a castle, a visit to Greve in Chianti, and a guided city tour.
Chef Paolo’s sense of humor brings the kitchen alive for a very interactive and fun class. Paolo tries to make sure that everyone is using the correct technique to achieve the highest possible standards for each dish prepared.
