The scenic Naramata Bench is a place of great beauty and character, with many boutique style wineries strung along the narrow and bucolic bench lands, such as LaFrenz, Laughingstock, Ruby Blues, Poplar Grove Estate Wineries, and several more. The lake’s capacity to store warmth and reflect light onto the vines, makes this sandy loam bench one of the Okanagan’s best vineyard locations. Grapes grown here have a long frost-free autumn, in which to mature.
From 09:30 to 17:00, guests will enjoy a vineyard lunch stop at the Vanilla Pod Restaurant onsite at Poplar Grove, which is a truly remarkable setting. Naramata Bench wine country is a must visit destination for wine connoisseurs and those seeking vistas of unparalleled beauty. They look forward to welcoming you to the unique warmth of the Naramata Bench.

The Okanagan Valley wine-growing region is located about 400 kilometers east of Vancouver and covers one degree of latitude, extending some 200 kilometers along a south-north axis from the United States border from the 49th parallel to just north of the Kelowna International Airport (50 degrees north). It has a distinct climatic advantage because the Valley is warmer and sunnier than California’s Napa Valley in July and August.
The surrounding landscape is defined by the major mountain ranges flanking this narrow valley: Coast Mountains and Thompson Plateau in the west and Monashee Mountains and Okanagan Highlands in the east. Protected by the mountains, the valley records hot summers, low rainfall, and cooler winters that produce world renown Canadian Icewines.
The Okanagan Valley produces an abundance of produce, seasonal fruit, and ethically raised livestock, which entice master chefs from around the world. The culinary growth in the Valley is a testament to the passion of the people who enthusiastically embrace award-winning wines with fresh local cuisine. Many wineries offer inspired dishes with wine-pairing recommendations in exceptional settings tucked into vineyards, overlooking lakes, or serving up panoramic valley views.
You will have plenty of opportunities to dine at local restaurants and get to know the surroundings at your own pace.
The Okanagan Valley is proud to have a full-service international airport located centrally in the city of Kelowna. Connections to and from Kelowna can be easily made for international flights with gateways through Vancouver, British Columbia, Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, and Toronto, Ontario.
