How lucky I am to stay in the best hostel in Balkans! The food they serve is great and healthy. The wine they brew is safe to drink. The room where I sleep is quiet. The most important thing is that they treat me like a member of their family. The staff working in the Florian Shkodra Guesthouse are the best I have ever seen.

I strongly recommend the people traveling in Shkodra to stay here. You will find that this is the best place for you to take a good rest.

We found Florian 's guesthouse at the last minute and had a really good time there. Florian has a lot of interesting stories and the food that his family grows and cooks is probably the best thing we tasted in Albania. If you are in the area, then I would definitely recommend staying here.

Me and a friend stayed with Florian as part of our holiday wandering around the Balkans. Even before our arrival, Florian was helping arrange things with us, sorting us out with transport from Podgorica, making sure we would have dinner waiting on our (late) arrival, etc.

Two tired girls arrived at the guesthouse at about 09:30 in the evening to be warmly greeted by Florian, we settled ourselves in our room and wandered out to have dinner at the big table in the garden, which everyone congregates around. Dinner consisted of vegetables grown in Florian's own garden, plus bread, cheese, and homemade red wine, all of which were delicious. Food for our souls too, Florian is an interesting man and happy to chat about anything and everything.

The next day, Florian lent us two bikes to go exploring the town, which we duly did. He arranged for us to have a little tour in the evening, offering his services as tour guide to go and see the famous bridge in Shkoder, as well as the castle overlooking the lake. Dinner and wine followed with more local culture info from Florian.

All in all, the room was clean and a decent size, not too far from town (about a 20-minute walk) but Florian and his family are the reason you should stay here.

One place, one family, and much and very nice food. It is the perfect place to organize your trip tor the mountains. They have a lot of information about the activities around Shkoder. The personal is so friendly and funny; one beer and a good conversation are essential in a hostel. Really nice!

Florian is a great guy, who runs his guesthouse and hostel out of love for meeting people and giving travelers a good experience of Albania. I stayed three nights at the hostel; two before going to the mountains and one after coming back. The only thing I can remark on is the service at the hostel, it was not 100% but certainly not bad. Laundry was a little expensive (2,2 EUR) and I had to do everything myself, clothes did not get very clean either. Apart from that, staff is very friendly and helpful, and dinner at Florian's guesthouse is very very good. Go there!

Florian also took us on a tour to the Ottoman bridge and the castle for a few Euros, so this could be arranged. He will probably ask you if you want to go.

I recently stayed at Florian's Guesthouse and the experience was fantastic from the first moment to the last. Florian was one of the most gracious and helpful hosts I've ever had. He made himself available at every moment and catered to my friend and mine's every need. He sent a driver to pick us up from Ulcinj, and having come from Dubrovnik in Croatia, we were without Euros or Albanian Lek to pay our driver. Florian said "no problem" and fronted us the money and let us pay him back later. Beyond that, he is a veritable font of knowledge on Albania, and it was a pleasure to listen to his stories about the country. If you're going to Albania, you've got to make a stop at Florian's.

Florian is an incredibly friendly and informative man and loves it when you leave a review. The guesthouse is on his family's farm and orchard, which was very pleasant. The meals were fresh from the garden and the wine, which was delicious, is from his father.

The best part, honestly, was just how he hung out with us and took us around the area to some incredible places. We had a lot of questions about Albania and we genuinely enjoyed hearing his answers. We learned a lot and wish we had more time since we were only there for one night. We would definitely recommend.

Florian and his family were extremely welcoming. We loved the fact we were immersed into an Albanian family home, where we ate food prepared from their own veggie patch, washed down with their homemade red wine! As soon as we got there, Florian took us to two places of interest in Shkoder and also organised our trip to Lake Koman. A great stay with wonderful people.

At the recommendation of a traveler, I stayed at this Albanian family home for eight days. The family is very warm and welcoming and goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The location is within walking distance from the city. Meals are prepared from vegetables from the garden with fresh baked bread. Florian, who manages the guest house, has a warm heart and is very passionate in ensuring you have an enjoyable time. He arranges transportation and tours and is helpful with anything you need. You are treated as a member of the family. I would definitely recommend this guest house.

A stay at Florian's Guesthouse is enough of a reason to come to Albania. Florian welcomes you with his kind heart and constantly does whatever he can to ensure that you have a good time in Shkoder. His guesthouse is located a short walk out of the city center on the same property where he and his family live. Florian's mom and sister cook the best food, his father makes the best wine, and Florian himself sets you up with many great options of activities and fun things to do. Thank you Florian!
