Experience a cultural and culinary vacation in Vietnam where you can visit some of the most popular sites in Vietnam, enjoy luxury junk cruise on the legendary Ha Long Bay, explore Sapa is a small market town that has been a gathering spot for many local hill tribes for nearly 200 years. Hmong and Dao people, among others, still come here to conduct trade, socialize, and attend an ephemeral “love market”, where young men and women choose one another for marriage, and discovery the poetic city Hue and the ancient town Hoi An.
You will be accommodated in Gondola Hotel (deluxe room) in Hanoi, Holiday Sapa Hotel (standard room) in Sapa, The Viet Beauty Cruise (deluxe room) in Halong, Asia Hotel Hue (deluxe room) in Hue, and Silk Marina Resort & Spa (deluxe city view balcony) in Hoi An.
When arriving, you will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your selected hotel. Take a rest after the flight. Early in the evening, join a water puppet show, a distinct Vietnamese art in which a split-bamboo screen obscures puppets which stand in water and are manipulated using long poles hidden beneath the water. Dinner will be at a local restaurant and overnight will be in Hanoi.
After breakfast, spend your day taking a tour around the capital and visiting several sites such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, and Temple of Literature.
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside) is a large memorial in Hanoi located in the center of Ba Dinh Square which is the place where Vietminh leader Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945. His former residence is a stilt house of Ho Chi Minh, the founder of modern Vietnam, which is fondly known as “Uncle Ho”.
The emperor Lý Thái Tông constructed the One Pillar Pagoda Temple. In 1049, he erected a pillar in the middle of a lotus pond, similar to the one he saw in the dream when he met the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara who handed him a baby son while seated on a lotus flower.
Temple of Literature is Vietnam's first national university where the offering ceremonies, study sessions, and the strict exams of the Dai Viet took place. Built in 1070, at the time of King Lý Nhân Tông, it is one of several temples in Vietnam which are dedicated to Confucius, sages, and scholars.
Later, you will have lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to the Museum of Ethnology which focuses on the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam. Then, you will enjoy a very interesting walking tour around the old quarter within 1,5 hours. Firstly, the trip starts from the head of Cao Thang street where local people sell all traditional cooking spices of Vietnam such as onions, garlic, mushrooms, black mushrooms, peppers, lemongrass, ginger, and galangal. Then, move to Dong Xuan market, the biggest market in Hanoi, originally built by the French administration and surrounded by different streets. You will go to the market and turn right to Hang Ma street. The road is shimmered by decorating stuff, Chinese toys, the colorful lanterns, paper goods, and in particular paper votive offerings.
Passing by Luong Van Can, Lan Ong, you arrive at Hang Buom Street located at the oldest temple of Hanoi - Bach Ma Temple. You will take some rest to admire the temple before continue walking through Ta Hien, Dinh Liet Street to the most peaceful small alley of Hanoi - Trung Yen. On the way, you have a chance to explore the daily life of local people who live and share their life in the confined spaces. You continue to Hang Be Street - used to be one of the best well-known outdoor markets in town dating from medieval, with famous food ”Mam Tep Chung Thit” which some years ago was disintegrated. At the end of this road, there is a coffee shop named Cafe market where Nhat Long Travel will invite you for a cup of coffee or iced fruit smoothies.
The end of the trip will be at Hoan Kiem Lake in front of a water puppet show theatre. From here, you can continue your walking or back to your hotel. Discover Hoan Kiem Lake, meaning "Lake of the Returned Sword", where emperor Lê Lợi was boating on the lake when his magic sword, Heaven's Will, was grabbed by a turtle who quickly disappeared into the depths. Take a beautiful picture on The Huc Red Bridge to Ngoc Son Temple. Then, come back to your hotel. Dinner will be on your own.
Pick up at your hotel will be at 19:30 - 20:15 and transfer to Hanoi train station catch the night train to Lao Cai (Train time: SP7/20:35 – SP1/21:10 – SP3/21:50). Overnight will be on the train.
You will have breakfast at the hotel. The guide takes you to visit Cat Cat village of Black H’mong people. You have a chance to visit a waterfall and the hydroelectric power station built by the French, see the life of local through their houses, their handicraft products. Then, back to Sapa town and have lunch at a restaurant. You are free and easy to discover Sapa town on your own. You will be transferred from the hotel to Lao Cai train station. Have dinner at the restaurant, near the train station before getting on the night train to go back to Hanoi. Overnight will be on the train.
Arrive at Tran Quy Cap station at 05:00 early morning. The driver takes you to the hotel (you have one room for taking shower and have breakfast from 05:00-08:00) before starting to Ninh Binh. At 08:30, the tour guide picks you up at suggested places around Hanoi Old Quarter. Depart for BaiDinh pagoda and Trang An eco-tourism site. Have a short break en-route to free your legs. Then, arrive in Buddha Sanctuary place of BaiDinh pagoda, the biggest one in Vietnam.
At 12:30, have lunch in a restaurant with local special dishes including goat meat. Then, leave for Trang An eco-tourism attraction. You will be amazed by neglected area while having a boat trip through cave chains: Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, Sinh Cave, experiencing mysterious views of the so-called “Ha Long Bay in land”. At 19:30, you will be back in Hanoi, get dropped off at your morning address. Overnight will be in Hanoi.
After breakfast, take a boat for a cruise on the gentle Huong River passing Dong Ba market and visit Thien Mu Pagoda on the riverbank and Emperor Minh Mang’s tomb, reminiscent of the Ming tombs in Chinese pavilions, ponds and gardens is known for its perfect harmony between architecture and its natural environment. It began to be built during his reign (1820-1841) and was completed only in 1843, two years after his death by his successor Thieu Tri.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the conical hats and incense stick making the village. Discover Emperor Khai Dinh’s mausoleum, which is unique among the royal tombs in Hue, Vietnam. Where other royal tombs are expansive and invite respectful reflection, The Nguyen Emperor Khai Dinh built his final resting place to be monumental in style and bombastic in execution. Overnight will be in Hue.
After breakfast, transfer to Da Nang through Hai Van Pass and through the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co. When arriving in Da Nang, visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountain, (Ngu Hanh Son) is about eight kilometers southeast of Da Nang City. This is a cluster of five marble mountains lying close to the sea. That is why, it is dubbed Hon Non Nuoc, which means mountain and water in Vietnamese.
Continue to the riverside town of Hoi An, an important trading port during the 17th and 18th centuries and officially listed as a World Heritage Site. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Dinner will be on your own and overnight will be in Hoian. In the afternoon, walk around Hoi An ancient town and exploring its treasures:
