Day 1

On your first day with us, we'll await your arrival at the house around 10 a.m. For those of you arriving by train, we'll meet you directly at the station. Once you've settled into your room, we'll start with an informal guided visit of Dieppe, where you can experience the town's history and architecture. As we move through its historic streets, past churches and monuments, you'll discover a town that is full of adventure.

Back to the house, you will enjoy a welcome lunch with regional cheese sampling accompanied by a nice glass of wine in the garden as we get to know each other. This gives you the opportunity to share your expectations about your stay. In the afternoon, you can walk along the shore and sunbathe. Youll relax while taking in the sights on a wonderful boat trip. At the end of the day, youll have time to pick up the perfect souvenir of this unique experience.

You will then enjoy a regional pre-dinner drink taken in the beach hut, a little cabin that epitomizes the pleasures of the seaside. After a wonderful moment of tranquility, you will return to the house, and all share a candlelit dinner prepared for you, with delightful seafood specialties.

Day 2

Following a continental breakfast, you'll depart on foot to discover the delights of the farmers' market, which is located in the very center of the town. This market is one of the largest in Normandy, attracting the best producers of the region. Here you'll find vegetables fresh from the plot, seasonal fruits from local orchards and traditional cooked meats. Youll also find cheesemakers, some of whom are sure to have regional specialties.

During this stroll, we'll replenish food stocks for your stay! Later on, you'll enjoy a glass of wine and share a chic picnic at the heart of a garden brimming with flowers and vegetables in the grounds of a delightful castle that will throw its arms open to welcome us. After such a good start to the day, we'll maintain our momentum with a walk of between 7.5 and 11 miles along a trail that takes us between the countryside and the sea.

Because evening will already be drawing in, we'll return to the house where the ever-ready Colin will have planned a menu that's 100% pure Dieppe. And you'll help him to prepare it! Following a traditional pre-dinner drink and shared dining experience, you'll have plenty of opportunities to make the most of the long evenings by strolling along the chalk cliff on which the castle stands.

Day 3

Because Nest is also a place to rest, today is your time to relax and leave any stress behind. After your breakfast, you'll take a few hours to make sure that you're all feeling your best by visiting the famous Dieppe spa, which is located right on the beach. You can enjoy a swim in the heated outside Olympic-sized seawater pool as well as making use of the hammam, sauna and gym. To make you feel really wonderful and refreshed, you can have a massage or beauty treatment.

For lunch, you'll travel to a nearby beach where you'll enjoy the simple, 1950s-style pleasure of delicious oysters and shrimps (with a choice of other dishes for those who prefer). To make the most of the day, youll be driven to next destination for a garden visit. This is a few miles away from the beach restaurant. This walk takes place in the grounds of a magnificent Arts & Crafts house. In a 12-hectare valley, you'll discover more than 100 different species of tree, with one of the most beautiful collections of hydrangeas and rhododendrons in the world.

All this exploring is sure to work up an appetite! Without delay, youll join Colin, who has prepared some of his wonderful regional recipes. After enjoying a regional pre-dinner drink, you'll share the fruits of Colins work at a celebratory meal. For those who remain full of energy, you can take a casual stroll along the beach, which is just over 200 yards from the house! The night view of the beach will surely be a great way to end your day.

Day 4

After breakfast, you'll visit the last garden, which is one of the most beautiful of them all, with an incredible profusion of plant species. For lunch, you'll enjoy a traditional Normandy dish on Dieppe beach. At around 5 p.m. we'll say our farewells with the hope of seeing you again soon!

Normandy is a region in North Western France, Europe. It is made up of 2 regions: Lower and Upper Normandy. With its 350 miles of coastline and richly varied landscapes, Normandy gives you a wonderful choice of scenery and culture: the stunning beauty of the cliffs in Etretat or the long sandy beaches, steeped in history, from Caen to Arromanches, or the Seine Valley winding between wooded hills and chalk escarpments.

One would not forget the beauty of the craggy hills of the Suisse Normande, and the patchwork of fields and hedges of the Calvados county with its orchards and timber-framed cottages. Enjoy Normandy's unique blend of maritime traditions and rural way of life. Marvel at its historic towns and monuments, stroll down quiet country lanes and enjoy local dishes in picturesque villages, or sip a drink by the quayside of one of its old ports while fishermen repair their nets and seagulls soar overhead.

Nest in Normandy offers authentic French homemade cooking. If you require a special diet (vegetarian, vegan, food allergies etc.), please ask if they are able to change the food program.
