Come and discover the flavors, smells, colors, and sounds of typical Chilean food! From the fruits of its sea to its wines, its history, and its culture. Enjoy the riches of the Central Valley and the coasts of Valparaíso. Starting from Santiago, you will visit wine valleys and coastal cities, folklorical shows, taste wines, and have a Chilean cooking class with expert guides in their art. You will experience the music and typical dances that accompany the program, together with nature and its majestic Andes mountain range!
During your culinary holiday, you will be accommodated at Altiplanico Bellas Artes Hotel in Santiago or a similar accommodation, in standard double or twin rooms. Altiplanico Bellas Artes is located in downtown Santiago, less than one kilometer from La Piojera.

Your driver will be waiting for you in the arrival of national or international flights to go to the hotel where you can leave your bags and go out to visit the Barrio Lastarria and Bellas Artes and have lunch. You will buy some ingredients for your cooking class and you will continue to the traditional Piojera Bar, where you can try the famous Terremoto (Chilean drink with alcohol). Then, you will visit the central market, where you will find fresh fish and seafood. You will then go into the historic center of Santiago with its most important points (La Moneda government palace, the armas square, the cathedral, and Santa Lucia Hill).
Then you will go to the department of your chef-guide, who will delight and teach you about traditional Chilean food. You will have a cooking class with four courses, learning about their preparation and their history. You will pair your food with Chilean wines of quality and importance in the Chilean viticulture market. You will finish your dinner and your guide will leave you at your hotel so that you can rest or go out to enjoy the nightlife in Santiago.
In the morning our guide will be waiting you at your hotel to start a wne day with traditional food and chilean folklore.
Maipo Valley is well known for its red wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère. The volcanic soils and special temperatures provide an optimum location for the development of vineyards that have been around since the nineteenth century. We will visit one winery on this valley: Viña Haras de Pirque.
You will start with a reception on the main terrace, then go through the wine cellar and guard, and finish in the private wine cellar with a tasting of 3 wines: Albaclara Sauvignon Blanc Gran Reserva, Hussonet Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva, Albis Red Blend Icon, accompanied by a table of Cheese.
After the wine tasting you will go to visit a Chilean ranch where they show the chilean traditions with horses skill demostration, music, dance and food.
You will finish your experience in your hotel, and the evening free and your guide will leave you with recommendations to go around the city and have dinner on your own.
Your guide will wait for you in the hall of your hotel at 9 a.m. to go to Valparaíso: The Jewel of the Pacific. This city was a strategic point of the post-colonial American economic growth, which caused many foreigners to leave their native countries to begin a new life or business in Valparaíso. It is currently a UNESCO cultural heritage site and is noted for its exciting cultural and street activity.
You will visit its main tourist spots and you will be delighted with its beautiful murals. You will also understand the city's history and its political and economic importance. You will also have the possibility to visit the house of the poet Pablo Neruda.
Later, you will visit the garden city of Viña del Mar, with its flowers and beaches. You will have lunch there in one of the many restaurants that offer dishes with seafood as protagonists.
On the way back to Santiago, you will make a stop in the Casablanca Valley, which stands out for the quality of its white wines (Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, among others), where you will visit the organic vineyard Emiliana and you will have a very particular tour where you will learn how a biodynamic organic ecosystem works. You will also taste its best wines with a table of cheeses, chocolates, and nuts.
You will return to the hotel to relax and prepare for the night. At 8 p.m., your guide will take you to the Bali Hai Restaurant, where you can taste typical Polynesian food and appreciate the beautiful music and dances from Rapa Nui (Easter Island), a Chilean territory right in the navel of the world. After dinner, your guide will bring you back to your hotel.
Your driver will wait for you at your hotel to transfer you to Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL), for your flight back home.

From good restaurants and pubs (Bellavista Boulevard or Lastarria and Bellas Artes neighborhood) to places like San Cristobal Hill (cable car) or Costanera Center (highest panoramic view). There are also interesting museums; you can visit La Chascona Museum of the poet Pablo Neruda and the Pre-Colombian Art Museum.
If you are interested in human rights and the last military Chilean dictatorship, you can visit the Human Right Museum. If you look for handicrafts, Los Dominicos handicraft village is the place to go.
