Stayed here for 2nights and also in Leeu House in the centre of Franschhoek.
Mont Rochelle had better service and friendly staff. The accommodation is better, newer at Leeu House being a newer property. Mont Rochelle could spend some money on a minor refurb.
With MR being a bit higher out of town it gets breezy and the wind tends to howl round the property at night and prevented a good nights sleep.
Given the choice I think Leeu House wins in terms of location and the standard of the property, with MR edging ahead on brilliant staff and a better breakfast.

Mont Rochelle offer a range of tasting experiences from 3 to 7 wines. We went for 5 and chose to have a light bite of cheese and ham to accompany the wines. The tasting room itself is bright and airy and the hosting staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the wines offered. There are many vineyards in the Franschhoek valley but few in my opinion to compare with Mont Rochelle

What an amazing place! We spent 5 nights here with our 2 children, on arrival Peter greeted us and said he wanted to make us feel at home. He certainly did everything he could to do so! From the arrival drinks and lunch through to the dinner at Miko, the superb accommodation, the excursion recommendations and transport everything was just amazing! We made the most of the wine tasting in the Country kitchen but also tried out the wine tram as well as the private tour that they arranged for us. The shuttle service into town was really handy and the walk back was quick and easy too....
Thanks to everyone who made our stay so special, with extra special thanks to Peter for his enthusiasm and fabulous customer service! Until next time..........
