We hired a car with driver called "Satheesh" for five days. From Cochin to Munnar, to Parambikulum, then Coimbatore. He was extremely professional and the trip went very smoothly. I would definitely recommend him.

Our group was booked relatively last minute and composed of seven people. From the moment the owner's driver picked us up on the first day, we had great service and provided with a great experience. The houseboat was beautiful and the backwaters route taken was also breathtaking. The food is also a great treat, giving you a chance to eat delicious Kerala foods and famous seafood. We had chai, fried bananas, and a wonderful breakfast. We never went hungry! The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Recommended that you bring snacks and lots of books, cards, and board games for passing the time and at night when the boat anchors. Also, alcohol isn't available on the boat, so if you want it, you much purchase it in advance. Overall, the owner, Kence, and his driver are excellent support and provide a great weekend experience!

I had the best local experience, in a wonderful antic house in a peaceful location. The hosts are a exeptional couple, she is the best cooker and he is a man of culture, versed in so many topics that I lost the time notion on our chat. Their english is excelent. I had a unique aproach to local Kerala culture and way of life.

Maya heritage has such a relaxed yet atmospheric feeling about it - if you were a writer, it's the sort of place where you'd want to write a novel. It is an old and impeccably maintained property with lots of established trees all around it. Although only for one night, it was probably the most relaxing night we spent in India! Vinodh and his wonderful extended family are not only beautiful people but great cooks - you should definitely have all your meals included in your stay, yum! Highly recommend staying here!

My friend was smart enough to book us a night at this gem even though there isn't anything specific to check off the sightseeing list by staying there. We were drawn to it because we've all read "The God of Small Things" and loved the book (it takes place in Ayemanam). The house was exquisite. The woman that prepared our meals is the best cook in Kerala! She will make meat dishes for you if you'd like, and only from her did I understand the big deal about dosas. Hers were amazing! The owner of the property is very kind and generous. He went on a morning walk with us and told us a lot about Ayemanam that we wouldn't have known from the guide books. This was such a pleasant surprise, and ranked our favorite place in Kerala by 2/4 of us!
