Testimonials

"My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Matamanoa Island. The villas are lovely with their plunge pool and outdoor showers and daybeds. However if you are thinking of a resort room don't do it. Spend the extra money and stay in a beachfront bure or a villa. Otherwise you won't feel special you will feel like you're have a cabin at a camp ground. However, what really makes the place are some of the key personnel. Caroline in reception, Kasa in the restaurant and Roni on the boats. My partner did a learn to dive swim in the pool with Emma who was an amazing teacher and very thorough while also making it an enjoyable experience for her. Trevor, one of the other diving instructors, spent time with the both of us and educated us on the diving and snorkeling spot which are abundant around the island. My partner ended up doing a discover dive with Emma and she was amazing with her in the ocean on her very first reef dive. I've dived all over the world with work. Through out that time I have only ever come across one other couple who care for their diving clients like these two. The dive experience made our trip as did meeting the amazing staff."

"Very friendly staff. They always greeted you with a welcome (Bula) and a smile. They have great food and drinks, especially the Ika Kokoda. The free afternoon tea was a nice touch. This is an incredibly relaxing place to be with your partner with stunning scenery. The daily snorkelling trip well worth the little amount this costs."

"Bula! We were welcomed onto the island in style with singing and guitar playing and escorted straight to the bar for a short introduction about the resort. Our room was ready early when check in was until 12 (we arrived on the early South Sea ferry, from Denarau). First impressions last and this was a great start. The staffs were great and will be missed; special mention to Gabi, Repeka, Kelli, John and Seko. June, the owner, was so welcoming, happy, casual and relaxed (having such a great island must do that to you). Food is fine, often great and is reasonably priced for Fiji. Such a pleasant experience, finalizing the accounts. It is a very romantic island, with lots of couples, but I did not feel out of place at all. It's a small island so you end up meeting so many of the guests if you chose to be social, which was great. We stayed 4 nights but on my next visit I will stay at least a week. Matamanoa was so quiet, scenic, relaxed and magical (I wish I was still there). This is by far one of the best islands I have ever visited in the world. Vinaka Matamanoa, I can't wait to come back!"

"Came here with my best friend over the Christmas period, and there aren't enough good things to say about this island. It is very small but with an abundance of activities to do. The beach is amazing and the snorkeling is also really good. You have to stay in one of the beachfront bures; they are 100 times better then the resort rooms. The food is pretty good but there is only one restaurant (but I wasn't there for the food). The people are the nicest people ever as well. I would come back in an instant!"
